Here's the deal, from what you're saying - There is a duplication of the download content at your save location giving your the problems.  Go the Settings tab by using the big X button on your controller.  Then System Settings, the Memory listing and your Hard Drive.  Once there, you will see the top listing for Games.

In Games, scroll to the listing for Forza Motorsport 2 and select that.  In there, look for the listings of December Car Pack, Limited Edition Cars, March Car Pack, Motegi Pack, Pre-order car, Road America Pack, and September Car Pack.  DELETE each of those instances, whether there is just one or two, remove each of them.

Now follow the instructions on the little pamphlet which was included with the two-disc set, installing only the second disc as directed.  After you're done, remove the disc and restart your Xbox console.

if any one can help me i downloaded the stuff on the bonus disc and now i cant get in to the auction house or send and receve cars via gifting if anyone can help thanks

 

There have been some sporadic issues with the Auction House and Gifting over the last few days.  When you say "can't get in" are you receiving some sort of error message?  Is it that just nothing is happening?

I've been having problems getting into the AH, getting quick matches in Career, and gifting cars.  I read your post and realized that I purchased the disc but had already downloaded much of the content through the marketplace.  I followed your instructions and deleted all the downloaded content, and reinstalled the disc.  Everything works fine now.  Thanks

Got my disc, followed the instructions here and got a clean install. No problems watsoever, everything works the same except now i have new cars!! Also AH and online racing and everything else work fine, no problems to report. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones :/

If you have purchased Forza Motorsport 2 Platinum Hits, here are some helpful tips to make your installation go smoothly.

Once you load in the bonus content disc you will given the installation menu, here you can pick the specific packs you want to install. If you have already purchased DLC packs previously, then you do not want to re-install those packs. If you try to install previously purchased DLC you will run into some issues when booting the game.

The best way to install the bonus disc is to remove all previously purchased DLC before you run the bonus disc. Here is how to delete previously purchased DLC:

In the “System” blade of the dashboard select “Memory”.  From there select the device that holds the Forza 2 profile information (should be Hard Drive).  Then select “Games” and scroll down to “Forza Motorsport 2”.

In this menu you will see all the game save files from this console. You want to delete only those items that say "Downloaded Content", do not delete anything else but those items. Once all the "Downloaded Content" has been deleted you can begin the installation of the content on the bonus disc.

 

Is this why I am having a message pop up when I boot up Forza 2 that says Local Scoreboard File is damaged. Would you like to delete it to continue?

And if yes does anyone know a way to fix this? Like would I have to delete all the DLC and re-download it?

Nope.  It should not be related at all, if you followed the instructions properly.  If your local scoreboard is damaged, in the Dashboard, go to System Settings/Memory and select where your gamesave is stored (hard drive or Memory Unit).  Then go to Games, locate Forza Motorsport 2 and see if you can spot any file showing a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.  If one appears, delete it.

Otherwise, answer Y - Yes to delete the Scoreboard when you launch the game.  No other way around it, that I know.

i agree.

i just got the platinum fm2 game BECAUSE of the dlc.it even states in the xbox website that it is on the disk.but i came home,put the disk in and no dlc !!!! wtf ??? if you have a product that comes out worldwide and you even put on the "official " fm2 gamesite on xbox.com the content,please make sure it's accurate . now im p offed cause i still have to get the dlc seperatly !!

If you are not in North America, and did not buy the Forza Motorsport 2 Complete Platinum two-disc version (clearly stated on the game box) and described on the front cover "THE COMPLETE COLLECTION - Included Bonus Disc contains an additional 43 cars and 2 tracks" then you bought the single disc Platinum repackaged version which was sold outside North America in celebration of the million sales (platinum) of the game.

The single disc is not described anywhere as having the additional cars and tracks included.  At least the download content you need to get is only about 40% of what we paid for it orirginally, before the two-disc set game out in North Ameirca about 18 months after the game launched.

Sorry, I missed your post.  My complete installation was 5.2 GB in size.  Slick as can be.  If you already have download content, make sure to exclude those car parks or tracks you already have installed.

i got the forza 2 platinum hits but there is only one disk,not two . can i get the disk from microsoft or turn 10 or something ? i bought it specificly for the dlc,so now im bummed out that it isnt there.

this totaly sucks ! it does not state clearly on the xbox site in europe that there are 2 platinum series.i also thought it was the platinum series we had in europe and that it was worldwide.maybe it says it on the u.s site,but we europeans look at our site's.not the u.s one ! i realy think that i was duped.i bought the platinum one for the dlc and sold my original one because it said on the site that dlc is included.now i think we should get the  dlc disk for free.

Take it back to the retailer for a refund if they told you the wrong thing.  The Forza Motorsport 2 Complete Platinum two-disc version is available only in North America.  There is a "Forza Motorsport 2 Platinum" repackaged version selling elsewhere, but it is only the single, original disc without any changes, and like other games which sell more than a million copies, the marketing version.

In answer to your question as to "why?" - marketing.  Just as the Limited Collector's Edition was marketed in most locations around the world, EXCEPT for the USA when the game first launched.  Your complaints about what you were told should be voiced to the management of the game store where you were told incorrect information.

I recently had my xbox repaired/replaced by microsoft, in doing so I have all DLC for the game. I can load my profile fine when going live, but if I try to play the game off-line I get a message stating downloadable content on profile missing from system. So I tried the liscense transfer tool and followed all instructions. qued them and downloaded them as the instructions say, I then tried to play off line again and I continue to get the same message and it wont let me play with that profile. I purchased the download content from live but since have also purchased the platinum edition with all downloads but did not use that on this console. Should I delete all DLC content and then try to reinstall from the disc maybe? Or will this screw something up.Not sure why it will allow me to use my profile on-line only. If anybody can help you guys can. Thanks.
