    So that everyone knows....

VVV does not condone the tyre gltich..... a few of our memebers have known about it and how to do it..but are not enacting it.

We would rather come second with honor than win with none.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...

At this point I don't think it really matters.  We have a faster setup than before and its without the tire glitch.  Much ado about nothing IMO.  Whether or not this tire glitch effects the S class cars in such a way as to give a competitive advantage remains to be seen.  I think some testing will reveal whether or not anyone needs to even worry about this.  I'd like to gather some tuners and drivers and see if together we can determine the effects this glitch really has.  It could save Turn10 the trouble of patching something that doesn't really matter, or it could prove that Turn10 needs get it patched right away.

I dont use the glitch, just found out about it this weekend... where was I when this F40 thing happened?

Pale, send me a car dude... I never got one the first time around, so I'll be happy to try your new and improved :)

I ran a 1:12.4 last night, but that was no tuning and experimenting between full grip and full power.

How do you know if someone has used the tire glitch? I now know how its done but don't know how you could tell.

    Wait 4 Me:
How do you know if someone has used the tire glitch? I now know how its done but don't know how you could tell.

You can't tell, unless they add HP, which you can see in a replay.  The issue here is that most of the HLC do not use cars that end up in the top 100, so you can't watch the replays to see.

Anyways, the DB9 is maxed on HP as is, so your other option is to add better suspension, maybe a weight reduction, or wider tires.  All things that can't be seen.  That is why the only real solution is for Turn 10 to come out and explain how it is done, and then we all do what we see fit.  There will always be suspicion otherwise, so the community taking a stance against it is effectively useless IMO.  It is impossible to police, and will render the leaderboards full of suspicion unless we all just accept it as fact, like the shift glitch in Forza 1.

It sucks that this is how it seems to be, but until yesterday I didn't even know that this glitch existed, yet plenty of others did, in my car club and in other clubs.  Are you going to tell me that we will all just trust each other from here on out?  Realistically speaking, that isn't going to happen.  If someone like me, who is not known to be 'elite' suddenly runs a #1 time, will anyone believe that I didn't use the glitch?

well we saw what happened in AutoX lmao : P Hey factory, long time no speak!

i found out about it yesterday, and in essence, the only problem i have is that it isn't known to everybody. The so called 'glitch' itself, i don't have a problem with - i think the option makes sense, its just that it seems half-arsed and is obviously not known

but hey, i dislike this game enough to barely play it, so i got no reason to use it anyway!

Condone means approve, and I am pretty sure he meant VVV doesn't approve.  The way he worded it was right.

Somebody take me to funky town because I am like towlie and have no idea what is going on right now...?

Can we get over the drama of whether or not tires are worth worrying about and talk about what kind of downforce you super pros are using for this challenge? Is it worth it to use any of the forza kit?

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...

First of all, I don't post that often, but I read this forum reguraly. I've been following the discussion on the tire glitch and I'm curious. I read about a tire glitch, in the past on the forums, but I figured it had been eliminated. My guess is it only gives an advantage when horsepower is in more demand than handling. So a statement that I read earlier in this thread said something to the effect that it can shave off as much as a second. Same as if ...on certain tracks you selected to go with handling over power. Basically...if it amounts to a PI penalty/reward the same as it is with all the other upgrades then there is no problem unless only a few are aware of this "glitch". So if it is decided that this is allowed....Then a permanent sticky thread should be posted on the General Discussion section.

If you want a definitive answer in the discussion mentioned above.....I propose this:

Get a group of testers to post when they heard about the glitch, did they ever use the glitch, and what their opinion of the glitch is. I know that would be due for some embelishment.

Next select One (glitchable car) to run on three tracks. Select a trustworthy individual to supply each tester with the same glitched and non glitched version of that car for each track. Hopefully you would be able to see a trend. It would really be nice if this would be able to be put in the multiplayer tournament section of Forza 2 in a closed invitation only running, but the scoreboard open to anyone.

    The three tracks:

    1.  high horsepower (Nissan Speedway)

    2. Mid HP/Mid handling (Sebring? Maple Valley?)

    3. Handling (King Cobra, etc.)

I don't think this issue is something that should shut the HLC down ,but put your heads together and come up with a plan to decide if this is a problem or not for the future of the game community.

Re: Hotlap Challenge Week 26 - Undefined...

No need for testers as I have done exstensive testing on the matter and here I will state my findings. As part of the IFCA I have done practice for a qually for an up comming event the FWC 9 here we had to build a car a MC 12 with a S954 PI for use on test track black mamba. I took the car and built it in two versions.

    1. A legit car without the glitch and various tests as to parts the fastest I got on the track was a 1:38.157 not bad for a weak car on the test tracks.

    2. A glitched car with less grip (this is a test track where grip is usually better) and ran a time of 1:37.0.

I think the resluts speak for themselves. You see it's not the difference between grip and horse power its putting on parts which makes up for the loss of grip. Tings like a transmission making the car lighter giving you two added benefits. better acceleration and better handling where as tires would only give you the grip advantage because your transmission is shifting like an old mule. Guys I feel that no one really wants to state how they feel about it. But let me assure you with the tire glitch you can make your car better never worse it's a fact.

The PI set at 850 makes it have a ceiling thus anything to keep in that ceiling that can make the car as a whole better is a must. In 850 you dont really need full street tires anyway thus te tire glitch will make the car much better than the average joe that doesnt know about it. An average player will beat the times of a well trained professional. This is how I see it. I am not slow but certainly not the fastest. Now I wonder what guys like Greeksniper, picaso, cam , damo , chemical , kimimatt would say with me being about 0.3 s slower than these guys on my very best lap when I suddenly jump 0.7 s ahead of them. These guys would tell you that at the level they are playing a 0.7s gap is almost impossible to gain. So decide what you want, I say open it up to all or patch it, end of story.

That is what I have been saying.  Either tell everyone, or patch it.  Asking people to agree not to use it is never going to work.

Yes , just waiting for word from TURN 10 as to what to do. If they say yes. I will state exactly how to do it. But so far no one has really responded from the chiefs teepee.

Thanks Eries for sharing with us your own personal tests appreciated.

What a joke this game has turned out to be seriously. 1st there was the Elan Glitch, then the AWD glitch which killed the scoreboards, then there was the 400mph top speed glitch in R1, then bump hitting came along this game just gets worst and worst. And now this stupid tire glitch. I wait for the day when a game developer makes a game with no cheats no bugs. I don't ever think I would see it in my lifetime.

So this tire glitch is it able to be done on every car in the game or a select few.

I have numerous number 1's across all classes without ever doing this stupid glitch. I wonder if other people up the top have done this glitch to get top times. Guaranteed knowing how people love seeing their name up top of the leaderboards will do anything to achieve that goal.

I can't wait for GT5. But there are most likely going to be glitches in that game aswell which will kill that game off aswell.

At least I can go down to my local drag racing track or circuit track in real life. Race my cars and know that there is no glitching going on.
