3. Played the game for 3 days without problems, started having missing sections in the track, missing cars in My Cars menu, then I started getting the disc read error messages constantly with freezing, then I got an odd message telling me "To play this game, please put in an Xbox 360 console" which is what I was playing on. Finally my box refused to read anything anymore,
one of my friends literally expierenced these same symptoms, he has to send it into Microsoft too, it is strange how my friend and i both got the game at the same time, and both ours went and broke within the same day.
this game came out by me on the 1st due to the holiday release. so its been 1 month and 10 broken xboxs from 1 game reported. i hope they patch the game and fix the issue
I had this for the first time last night. I guess its ultimate demise is what I can expect.

Had it since launch.
Launch Premium console
Had an e68 error message pop up. I called and was told I had to replace the harddrive. I bought the 120gb in an attempt to save any downloads and save to no avail. In less than a week the entire system died with the red ring of death.
I have never had any issues prior to this game.
I am waiting on the coffin. It cost me $140 plus the stupid $200 hdd last week.
Quite frankly this is bs to know I am not a mere coincidence.

Forza 2 froze once. Then it became more frequent. Now it freezes everywhere, startup, tuning, garage, in middle of races. 3 RoL does not appear with other games - only with Forza 2 and only AFTER i rebooting the console after Forza 2 caused it to freeze. All my other games still run fine. I have discontinued use of Forza 2 as of now.
4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?
No
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?
No, I'm waiting for an official answer now.

None, have played other games, as well as watched many hours of HD-DVD's and regular DVD's and videos from Marketplace5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? Not yet, I will be sending it in soon. I just bought an Elite, so not a huge need for my Premium 360 right now. I'm out of warranty, so doens't matter when I ship it back in... Just waiting to see if something gets better soon..

Actually, your analysis is incorrect. The problem is only going to get worse, and CAN be specific to different games. The reason it's going to get worse, and why certain games are more likely to cause the Xbox360 to crash has everything to do with how sophisticated the software is. 1st gen games probably only used a single core because early dev kits likely only had 1 or 2 working cores, and a rush to make launch and early deadlines forced developers to reduce technical scope. Now that developers are more savvy, now that the dev kits are final, you will find applications fully utilizing 2 or 3 cores - thus raising the heat levels within the Xbox360, and trust me, the problem has everything to do with heat. You only need to look at the most recent pictures of Microsofts's temp fix to this problem in which they tacked/hacked on a pipe leading to a heat sink to know they are scrambling. I think Microsoft has a huge problem on their hands. It will get worse. Can anyone say class action lawsuit?
Unfortunately, some people will still remain unconvinced, and continue to say that it has nothing to do with this game. I'd figure both your and my explanation would be enough... At this point if there are any "non-believers" that remain, after our proof and description of what's happening and why... You've GOTTA be joking me! I can say class action lawsuit, as I've also seen it mentioned quite a few times on these forums, and if something isn't done to reimburse those that have invested in this under-performing hardware/over-performing software combination, this situation will definately be escalated... Disregarding the company names involved, I see no reason whatsoever that an Xbox 360 should be taken any less seriously than any other consumer product, nor any reason it shouldn't receive the same "punishments" (for lack of better words) as any other $400 dollar item that has a widespread problem of not functioning with its licensed sub-products.

November 2006, so roughly 7 months.

Playing forza, then several freezes. restarted console. froze again, restarted 3 red lights. let it cool down, and console booted fine. played forza and died 2 minutes in on the menu.
4. Has your 360 had many problems on other games, aside from Forza?
Never had a problem before with any games. Occasional lock up on the dash, nothing major.
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?
I refuse to send the console off whilst its still under warranty from the shop. Took it back to GAME and was told that the store was currently replacing 4 consoles a DAY. Shop replaced it no questions asked for a brand new console. See how long this one lasts. Was also told that GAME are now offering an extended replacement programme where they will replace your console (no sending it off for repair) for £27. That certainly beats microsofts £50+ and means you dont have to wait around for repair.

a)races, specific ones, and random.
b) auction house - veiwing cars, scrollling and searching.
c) loading screens - for races.
d) scrolling through the garage if I go too fast - like more than 1 car every 5seconds. ..
e) paying out for race wins - freeze as the cash rolls in.
f) Orange loading screen - after a payout freeze it generally takes 6 orange screen freezes to even get back into the game.
g) Constant freezing means I'm always pinging my FL with Online Notifications. And am getting the same from 3 other friends. Four of us - all getting freezes out of a petrol head proportion of my FL of about 15. Nice percentage.
4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza? No other issues on any other game or demo - ever. No graphical issues, connectivity issues, loading errors, read errors. And you should see the state of my PGR3 disk after 400+ hours of play and countless ins/outs of the tray. I've played this for less than 30 - spread over 3 game discs.
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? Spoke to Xbox support - they have offered a free out of warranty repair - valid for a month. They said it must be something to do with the "laser" but wouldnt go into details. I now need to decide when to send it in - but taped message says 25days for "repairs". There are 4 Gamertags use this machine, and only 1, me, plays this game. So I need to deny the others of their entertainment for the sake of me playing parts of this game, and give up a months XBL, loosing contact with distant family.
TBH, the reason why its not in the post yet, is because I'm deciding if to be "without" for a month is a price worth paying to finish this game..... realistically I will send it in, because at the end of the day - the bits that work - are truely superb. U999 Enzo > some cheap beers.
But is it worth denying the kids access to their gardens, Adventuring with Lara, cleaning up the city, hitting the slopes...........?

no 3 reds tho, it crashed 3 times 1 on multiplayer counter went to 0 then load screen and crash 2 went to test drive and crashed during loading. 3 during test drive i was driving on a straight then it crashed-in all cases i had to turn off 360 at its button. 1st time was months ago and only happened once, but iv just brought the wheel and tried it today and it crashed twice in less than 10min.

twice during online play of crackdown the 360 would stutter during play and crash this was do to poor ventilation, the 360 is located on top of a table so its well ventilated now and with forza it just crashed straight away with no stuttering.

never sent in as no RoD
Edit: make that 5 in less than 1hour today, two more: 1 was multiplayer loading screen and 2nd was during a race.

still under gamestop 1 year warranty (but I have to pay 60 USD for new warranty)
As this will be my fourth premium 360, I'm not real sure if its so much the game.I could possibly have problems with my electricity surging when my central air kicks on. That being said, I did really notice the console slowing down, making wierd noises, etc. once my garage had over 200 cars.(I had 276 when my box took a crap) This happened twice on forza 1 and i had corrupt data and had to start over. I,M TIRED OF BUYING NEW WARRANTYS! I,ve already spent $220 on WARRANTYS!

No previous Problems! Died after getting of the phone with a friend, whos 360 also died who had no preious issues and has been playing forza since it came out!

2a: 1 Year and two days (as checked when I got it when RRL come on and thought knowing my luck just out of warrenty
2b: about 23rd Feb 2006 Premium
3: I bought Forza on the Saturday late afternoon played on it for a few hours saturday night, the next night when I went to play on it I got the 3 lights right away so didnt even use the consle sunday so done all the tests of taking hard drive off and all that but still the same. Ive never had probems before with it just after I got forza it happened
4: No problems what so ever apart from dvd drive starting to sound loud but that didnt bother me as it still ran great
5: sent in for repair and two weeks later still waiting to get it back, all free as ms said "oh yes it does need a service". and I hope it dont happen when I get it back and wanna catch up with all my mates who are like 40's on the game and Im somethink like 4 on it with little money and a few cars

Forza 2 broke two Xbox 360s

3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before you got the 3 red lights. No red lights for me. I only played Forza 2 for 3 days and then my disc drive stopped working. Before it happened sections of track would dissappear while racing and things took extra long to load.
4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza? My 360 red ringed before but I got it fixed and 2 weeks after getting it fixed Forza 2 breaks the disc drive!
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? Yes, I didn't have to pay because I had just paid to have it fixed 2 weeks earlier.
My 2nd 360 broke not too long after my first...

3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before you got the 3 red lights. None! I hadn't played Xbox for 3 days then when I finally turn it on it freezes 45 seconds after booting up Forza 2. IT NEVER HAD FREEZING ISSUES BEFORE!

No 3 red lights. But it overheats, it silent, and freezes and turns off after 5 minutes of gameplay. it also generates more heat than usual...
4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza? It started on FOrza, but it does it in general on xbox now.
5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? No repair yet, but im going to swap it tommorrw, gettign a new one free as it's under warrantly

Getting disc read errors even though disc was spotless, then got serious graphical corruption. The got error code E74: AV Cable Error and finally 3 red lights.

I had a MS extended 1 year warranty so its being repaired. However couldn't bear being without my 360 for up to 3 weeks so traded in my Wii and bought another. Don't get me wrong, I love the 360, just wish it was reliable and that MS would recognise all the crap that everyone is putting up with and at least make an official statement admitting there is a problem!
