Never put a whale tail on a porsche!

Just so that everyone knows, that tails is 100% functional. It's fully adjustable, and can can produce up to ~175 Lbs of downforce at 40 MPH, and also helps redirect air to cool the intercooler better. It may look like rice to the untrained eye, but even Porsche put similar wings on their cars as OEM. Case in point: 993 911 GT2. Or the 3.8 RS America. Don't assume that just cause it's big it's rice.

Want to rice a Porsche? Go to Gemballa. Those are probably 20" rims and the bodywork is just hideous. And that spoiler.... gross Indifferent [:|]

in no way, shape, or form is that rice.

I think it is, the cheesy looking bodykit, the 20" wheels, the color, and whats it called.... the Avelanche... or Hurricane, something stupid like that.

    Gemballa, rice? That's funny!

Just because you don't like functional styling doesn't make it rice...

    I guess you don't like TechArt's 911 GTstreet R either...

If I ever meet the creator of this car in real life, I will give him $20 in gas money for that car. He has come up with a truly constructive solution to the rice problem. Now all he needs to do is design a "POSER" decal which imitates the style of the NOS logo and paste it on the doors.

It drives innovation, it's definitely not wrong. So, you have an opinion that others don't agree on, but just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's wrong. If it works and works well -- like Gemballa cars do -- then it's not wrong. If it's purely aesthetic -- which it's not -- then it's wrong. Unless, it's a show car...which it's not.

thats exactly why I put (IMO) at the end, I don't know why, but I personaly just dont like taking a perfectly fine supercar and adding huge rims, wings, ect. Porsche has been making the 911 for what, 40 years, they've got it pretty well figured out by now. I do understand that these companies will go alot more extreme than the factory will, by adding huge amounts of power and downforce that would be to scary for even Porsche to make.

I believe it was made for a show on MTV and they used it to poke fun at the ricer life style before they trashed it. IMO a waste of a decent 86 but hey I'm bias

Hm... my words were twisted. I was arguing that the 993 was not rice, and the Gemballa would be more rice than it. I should have clarified. Too be fair, it is a piece of junk and I hate it. Stick out tongue [:P]

What makes a car "rice" though? Japanese cars with kits and useless, so-called upgrades? I don't follow.

I know what IMO is. That's why I said, "So, you have an opinion that others don't agree on...".

Yeah, so companies customize cars ... that's been going on for quite some time too, but to say that these particular cars are rice is preposterous.

But everything is OK if Saleen or Roush takes a Mustang and improves upon it -- yeah, it's OK then... But if a few companies do something cool and different with a car, like the 911, it's "rice" or sacrilegious.

Just because it doesn't suit your taste doesn't mean it's rice, wrong, or anything else that falls into that category. ...It's just not right, for you. ...And, that's fine. No one will argue with that.

Rice = Non-functioning parts on cars that were not made for performance, originally.

At least that's how I look at it. Everyone has their opinion on what rice really is, but that's what it is, to me.

I don't really consider it rice, I think its perfectly fine when in-house tuning shops such as AMG, TRD, and Mugen modify cars, but I dont like the 3rd party garage's cars.

Never said I didn't like the car.... there are just things I don't agree with on it. Like 20" rims should never be on a car... ever. Also I happen to love the GT Street.

I didn't know what "rice" was exactly so give me a *** break.
