Nice work Glassman!  You grid idea has been very helpful so far.  Thanks for the guides.

    GlassMan NZ:

All three videos are up now. Links are in the fourth post on page one.

When the car is finished, there will be sales and it will be easy to get.

Well, the car and artwork is just flippin' awesome !

But, even that doesn't compare (in the same sense) to someone who has taken all the time you have to help out the community.  It was a LOT of work and effort just to share.  AND, videos.  :)

Now, having said all that, I'm going to ask a question as I went through most of your tutorial and while I saw tips on lots of things, do you have any tips to add on color memory or use?  Like, which typically makes for the best skin tones and skin shadows, etc.  I saw one place where you mentioned certain shapes lending themselves to lots of use.  And (as I hide in shame) how do you remember colors from shape to shape?  I find that simply slapping on geometric shapes of certain colors on the sides and then finding the same shade again to have it "wrap" around to the rear is hard for me.  Inevitably, I choose the wrong color and have to go back (once or twice) and find the correct shade.  Any tips in this area?

Thanks again, for the REALLY thorough tutorial ! :)

Good example of the grid method being used in action, MxTxK, thanks for that.

In answer to your question Slynky, I make use of the "previous colors" screen. I agree, sometimes it can be hard to match a colour by eye. What I do to match a colour is go to a shape I know is the colour I need. Select it and select "change color". Now, instead of changing the colour, simply accept it, and you will find it has been pasted to the top of the "previous colors" screen.
That's it!  You can't make a mistake and choose the wrong colour, and it's dead easy to do. You just have to keep track of where things are.

Thanks, GlassMan, for the suggestions !

    Damn, that turned out great!

Makes me wish I got to finish my Mirrors Edge car some 3 or 4 months ago.

Kudos for one fine design and tutorial. Cool
