while I would agree with you to some point, that GT-R and Supra are tacky in fact they are the poster boys for every crappy trend that started in the early 2000's. Maybe the skyline could be saved if they fitted new wheels and ditched the neons and the graphics but as it is now I would not be seen in it

It was a movie and people need to get over it. The "trend" had started before the movie was even made. The movie just brought in a whole new crowd to the scene, and that's what it's about, for the most part -- appealing to new people and expanding the base. I've seen far worse in other movies. But yeah, these particular cars are tacky.

But ... if you want to say that the movie started a tacky trend - I will agree to that. ;)

I think the NSX is an abomination.

I'm just saying they are what represent those trends they didn't start them.

but I think that NSX could do with an other rear wing since 3 is just too few.

    Sadly -- on both accounts.

I just wish "car" people made movies like they used to ... back in the day. The Original Gone In Sixty Seconds, Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper, Vanishing Point etc.. In most cases; less is much, much, much more.

    Manly

    Girlie

    (sorry Chip)

    Tacky (just plain cheese)

Smokey and the Bandit f**king awesome film. I think the main problem with "new" car movie's is they focus on the cars way too much and not the story hell it would be much easier to just make a good story and then just gave the main character a nice (but fitting) car

I think a lowered, custom Bug with tasteful wheels is more manly than a lifted Excursion.

And of course, Baja's are the definition of manly

And why not a drag Bug?

Was that a shot at me? We're dealing in particulars here, not the car as a whole -- at least I am. I'm going to tell you like I told someone else; I like Beetles a lot. I have the utmost respect for those little cars, but I'm talking about the particular car I posted - I'm talking about just one vehicle ... not custom drag Beetles or bad*** Baja Beetles... lol.

I, for one, like the lifted Excursion. I think it's bad***. But, just that one I posted -- not the model as a whole. When I think girlie; I think gorgeous lines (or more graceful lines) and elegance -- this doesn't necessarily apply to the Beetle. When I think manly; I think nasty, ugly and aggressive. I know a lot of women are into 4WD's, crawlers, dragsters and other custom vehicles -- like as us males -- but that's not the point ... not for me anyway.
