Yes, its a well know fact that those boys at MooGin Racing like a birthday, mind, with the average age of the team being well over the 'should know better mark', its hardly surprising, they have celebrated enough!!
To kick off the year, we shall be celebrating Aston Martin's 100th birthday in 2013 and with James Bond getting used to being 50 now (Pybus250 has been well versed in this area, for quite some time now!!) we have decided to start the year with a nice testing four round series in a the car made famous by the re-make of Casino Royale, in the 2008 Aston Martin DBS. Now for the vast majority of players on the site, they will remember the car being flipped after the Ferrero Rocher Convention. For the ladies and homosexuals amongst you, i fully understand that Daniel Craig appearing from the sea in tight blue shorts was far more appealing and we did try, but Ginge was having none of it!!
So then, a short straight forward four round series, a 510 HP S Class beast, with no aero!! A car thats going to test you as it does bite, just ask MGR NinjaWookie, he currently has the most complex of jigsaw puzzles underway trying to piece back together his car after an incident involving a barrier on the rolling start!!
The four tracks involved, Road America kicking things off, an easy track to run, not easy to master though, but really suits the DBS well. We then take in two tracks, vastly under used,in Sedona Raceway Park Full and Bernese Alps Festival Circuit, perhaps not the most favoured amongst the game, but well worthy of a midweek visit. The final round, to celebrate the 100 years of Aston Martin, lets have 100 minutes (roughly) around Le Mans. Yes 24 laps of the most famous venue in Endurance racing, a place in which Aston Martin know oh too well. It will be the Circuit De La Sarthe, it will involve no qualifying, it will be a test of patience and skill.
Each round will consist of just one race per evening, qualifying will be from 20:00 GMT for the first three rounds, round four we will be hoping to get underway at 20:15 at the latest. The build mustnt be altered, but the cars are almost fully tunable, although no aero is fitted, it will hopefully be a challenge you will enjoy. We will state now, for cockpit users, the rear view mirror isnt ideal, unfortunately on the vast majority of Aston Martin's in the game, this is the case, we fully appreciate this could be an issue, but its something completely out of our hands and hopefully cockpit users will understand and be able to deal with it (not like its the only car in the game where this is a fault).
Full details are available on the VTCC forum
including build, full livery and race rules, as well as full details for the qualifying procedures and all that lovely technical stuff.
Try It, you might just like it!!
