    Racing online, and getting better

    Hello all!

I played through a good portion of Forza2 and enjoyed the game, picked up f3 and I enjoy it even more! I play mostly the single player hoping to gain experience in racing but still have a few pressing questions I imagine a more senior player could answer.

I just get stomped online, I choose the lower class, C and D, with my car optimized (using quick tuning) to that particular class. I keep my brake lines on, and keep most of the assits off. I have a wheel but tend to use the controller lately in attempt to stay competitive. I just can't seem to find where I should focus my efforts. I can race the AI without a problem, but online I keep getting smoked.

I know its not all car, but what really should I be focusing on? Faster through turns despite the racing line guide? Find some tuning help? Race more and more and eventually it will work? Memorize tracks?

Any help or guides in the right direction will help! Its getting really frustrated I can't hop online and be competitive!

    Any insight?

All I see is, race starts, someone crashes. One person takes off. End of race.

Im in the same boat. i blasted through single player and recent started playing online, and i am consistently getting beaten. Even on the factory stock races my fastest lap times are 2 seconds off of every one else.  I typically race with all assists off accept for abs. I think im going to switch tcs back on and see if that improves anything.

If you aren't already, try using manual (w/ or w/o clutch) instead of automatic. It takes getting used to (which gear you should be in at turns, etc), but it significantly makes the car faster than auto.

Edit: Sorry, thought this was the F3 forum. Might still work in F2 though, haven't played in a while.
