Then comes the other guys.....the guys that just like lemmings off of a cliff go to the scoreboards everyday and buy whatever is at number 1. They never do anything on their own. Most of them don't even use their own setup, they d/l that too. Don't these guys have any pride in themselves? Don't they want to be the one that makes the leaderboard car? Where is their self esteem? Tuning and making your own car fast is half the fun in forza.

Tuning and making your own car fast is half of YOUR fun.  Me, I could care less about such things and in truth find it annoyingly tedious most of the time, I just want to go fast.  But let me assure you, I have no "self esteem" or "pride" problems because of that and I certainly do something on my own, the most important thing, which is drive it.

Why is it that so many people have these negative attitudes towards others in the community.  I mean, I don't care what you drive or how you drive it, yet there's always a thread on here by someone thinking they're superior to someone else because how they choose to play a video game.  Whether it's LB cars or the assists, there's always someone on here blowing hard about how great they are because they don't use this or that.

Saying all of that, I do to tinker around with different cars a little too.  Moreso since our club opened up a tuning garage.  Not great at it yet, but can build a fairly competitive car.  Difference with me is if you see me hosting a lobby and I'm in one of those cars I welcome anyone to get in their mugens or their 206's or whatever.  Bring em on.  Won't hear me complain once.

Fair enough factory. I guess if you don't want people doing that do series races. Having Road atlanta, Maple Valley and Laguna in a series more or less calls for evryone to use an all round car and not a LB car that will be only good an one circuit.

Sometimes I play Forza by holding the controller in my feet as well, I mean, the idea of winning annoys me, so I play with my feet to make it exciting.

If everyone else in the room doesn't start playing with their feet I'll complain and eventually boot them from the room.

Good to bring some humor into this, as it's annoying that people feel the constant need to complain about something or other (LB cars in this instance). A winning post, h0axx Yes [Y]

Even if the whole room is driving with their feet, I'm still gonna drive with my hands. I dont care if I beat everybody every single race. Its all about winning no matter how un competitive or monotonous it is. Thats just how I am tho. A jerk who's scared to loose.

Same here bro, it always sucks when people complain about me using my hands though, I'm not a bully but I simply don't want to use my feet.  Why do other people always have to tell me how to play my game is how I feel about it, so I understand what you're saying completely!

Isn't the whole point of competing  to see who the best is? Not who can come closest to getting 2nd? Why should I bring my "B" game to the track?

Agreed, that's why people pay for leaderboard cars and tunes, and use their hands when they race lol. Threads like this are always amusing, with "z0mg teh LB carz r kiling mE!!11!"

However, it seems that in Forza, your A game is not wanted.  Instead, you have to bring your C game in order to not offend anyone.Wink [;)]

The best at what????! Picking a certain car that everybody knows is faster around a track?

Ok lets see who has the most game ok, we'll time each other on how long it takes us to find our lotuses in the gargage. I got mad game, I can find it in like 2.5 seconds.

So what do you guys do when the LB car changes? Just move on and never race the old one again?
I'm not bashing, i'm genuinely curious as to how you guys manage your garage.

Since when is "game" which car you're driving? You think you got game because you lap everybody in a elise?

I tryed for weeks to get to the top 1000 at Mapple valley in b class. I tryed every single car I owned on that thing. The highest I got was 1200th. I finally gave in and tryed my Mugen on it, BOOM. 3 laps, top 100. I went from 1200th to 100 in 3 laps. My game is the same. Its the lb car that made the difference.

The point is, if everybody is bringing their "a" game, then bring yours. If everybody's bringing their "b" game, then bring your "a" game, and after you smash everybody, maybe switch it up with some "b", and maybe even "c" to chellenge yourself with different cars. That makes sense to me, competing on a similar level.

Just a thought, if you really are that bent up about LB cars then simply set up a lobby with "stock upgrades and tuning" set to "yes." That could be one fix for your problems.

Actually its a lot more fun to set up a series race and see the lb guys DOMINATE on one track on the list......then come last by miles in the others, lol. Then its their turn to complain, "series racing is so gay, my car isn't built for this, wa wa wa"

maybe you should have built a car that's good everywhere.

How about this.  The best at driving a certain class of car around a given track in the least amount of time.  Otherwise known as racing.  All the racing leagues, like F1, CHAMP car, NASCAR etc.... spend thousands, some millions, of dollars to go faster.  All I have to spend is a couple of minutes researching, and then either a couple hours tuning, or a few hundred thousand credits to get the same result on Forza.  I don't see why you anti-LB cars guys can't understand that.

This is a racing game.  Does Honda whine and call Ferrari n00bs because they have faster cars?  Does Red Bull Racing kick McLaren out of the lobby because they are driving a car capable of setting track records?  No.  Not now, and not ever.  They simply try to go faster.  R-A-C-I-N-G.

And my point is, why should I bring any other car to the track just to make you happy?  I payed for the game, and I pay for xbox live.  You have no right to tell me how to play this game, and I have no right to tell you how to play yours.

I often run lobbies where I drive my B700 Focus, or my Cobalt.  I never kick anyone for using a LB car.  Maybe its because I know that if I choose an inferior car, then I had better be ready to lose.  If I am that concerned about where I am going to finish, I will take out my Peugeot or Mugen.  Pretty simple I think.

The BIG difference is factory, Ferrari or Honda  do not pull out different cars for each circuit. What they do is make a car that is good on ALL circuits and use the setup to finetune depending on what circuit they are on. Why can't LB guys just build good cars that work everywhere instead of one-circuit cars?

Go to laguna = pull out lotus
go to maple = pull out NSX
go to road atlanta = pull out stingray

When Maserati are racing in the FIA GT they don't change car depending on circuit. They use the same car and use the setup to get the most out of the car at that circuit, cause the car is built for all round performance. An F1 car built to be 10 seconds faster than everyone else at Monza would score points at exactly one race per season.

Re: Who here avoid using leaderboard cars?

And now you are bringing series racing into the topic.  Is Forza focused on series racing?  Not to my knowledge.  I have been involved in exactly 1 series race since I have been palying Forza.  I can guarantee you that if Ferrari were allowed to change their build for each race, and if it was financially feasible, they would.  This is a video game, where real world concerns such as money hold no weight.  I can easily afford to have 10 different B class cars if I want.  Heck, I might even make 3 of them Peugeots.  Its nice to have financial liberty.

Re: Who here avoid using leaderboard cars?

there aren't many cars that are good "Everywhere"

and if they are most likely it's a LB car (example: lotus, peugot, saleen s7, gulf mkII)...now those cars aren't necessarily good everywhere but would be competitive on a high number of tracks.
