This should be good. Including the quantities of  the L.E's should really show the rarity and help raise the value of each. Would it be right to include personal info like includeding the owners of the L.E's? Maybe you could just list the current owners selling their L.E's like a classified section. Also what about garages that don't exist anymore or cars that arn't sold anymore will they still be included just for reference and be cosidered old legends or the history of the tuning marketplace.

Re: Tuning Garage Heads/Community Members - I NEED YOUR INPUT!

Ok, for starters just so I'm not creating unrealistic expectations, today's release is going to be very limited.  The only features I intend to make public are the car list and the garage rosters.  Since I do not have tune information from the garages yet, that will be a bit more time consuming process.

I can create the ability to store that information, but I can't make any gaurantees for accuracy.  I don't have any way of knowing when a car was sold and to whom unless the seller reports it to me.  It may be worth storing the original purchasers so you have a little chain of custody.  I don't know how well it would work beyond that initial sale.

    Interesting concept though.

Once you're in the db, you stay there.  I always adopt a policy of not destroying data unless I absolutely have to.  That's just best practice in the DBA world.

I could.  I have no reason to think we shouldn't include them.  Of course the problem is I don't have anyone to get all of the information from.

So yes I can, and if someone wants to spearhead gathering that type of information, let me know.

Oh yeah they're still around I've seen it in their sigs don't remember who, and most only carry some of the garages cars I believe. I'm sure one will come accross this post soon.

I have hosting that I purchased for development work and never really got around to using.  So I'm pretty good there.

    Anyway...

    Progress Report:

Here is the BETA of the project I'm working on:

beta betA beTA bETA BETA http://www.forzatunes.com BETA BETa BEta Beta beta

Did I mention it's a Beta and doesn't have most of the functionality I intend to release?  If not, I just did.

The only parts that are functional and released to the public on the site are the car list and garage rosters.  I also put together a shop bio page, so for the garages that have sent me some info already, send me your shop bios so I can put them up.

I'm also ready for all of your catalog information.  Please PM OR EMAIL this information at your convenience.  I'll be looking for anything you want people to know about your tunes.  Specs, LE stats, painters/tuners/sellers, images, writeups, laptimes, etc.

Getting the tunes up and running is next up on the list, so the more info I have, the closer I can get.

    Feedback welcome.

Edit:  Also, don't get used to the overall look and feel of the site.  I just put up this theme so it didn't look COMPLETELY crappy.  I'll be overhauling the color scheme and overall graphic design elements later.

    Fixed.

Don't feel like you have to be cordial folks.  If the site doesn't look like it's shaping up to do what you need, let me know what I can do to make it better.  I know it's a little tough to really evaluate it without the tunes feature, but anything you have to offer is welcome.

Maybe you should have less people in your garage so I don't have to worry about keying in that many people at once.  Jeez...

LMFAO. That was great, this whole idea is great. It takes a lot of time and effort to do something like this, if it could incorporate reviews from ForzaTimes and BrutherSuperior it'd be even better. As new releases come along each of you could get a copy of the car for at least some kind of payment for your time spent.

Amazing idea, and I'd love to be included if I didn't fully intend (SiC) Racing to be temporary until I join someone.

    Yes... yes it would...

If you're releasing tunes under (SiC) Racing, I'll take them whether you intend to join a different garage or not.  The way the database is laid out it's not going to prevent you from migrating to different shops.  Your tunes will just be hooked up to you personally, and your old shop.

is there any way the tuner would be able to update the website with new tuned cars. At the rate of new releases lately, I don 't believe there is any way you could keep up with all of it. Letting the tuners update their own garage on your site would help ensure the database is up to date.

    That's in the works.

I was initially reluctant to screw around with creating a user authentication mechanism, but I just did it anyway.  Once I get most of the core functionality up and running I'll start focusing on making management a little less painful.  As it is right now, I'm staring at raw tables in a database and matching up a bunch of numbers that look like gibberish to the average person.  This is what I call a "sub-optimal" maintenance plan.
