I hope you mean Jackie and not Vanina! She's got to be one of the worst drivers ever to make it to DTM!

    rneilson:
Kimi Raikkonen!! he is hilarious. The owner of possibly the funniest moment in F1 history. When asked if he watched Michael Schumachers Prize presentation he replied "I was having a s**t".

AHA ROFL i remember this i think it was at Brazil on Schumachers last race maybe? hadn't he been given something by Pele? Live grid walk and he got asked that, gave a great reply!

Seriously thought i don't like Raikkonen

    1. Lewis Hamilton (even if he is a new kid)
    2. M. Schumacher (1st guy i supported when i was a kid [like 6] all the way to his retirement, you have to respect a man deeply when he is the best at what he does at the highest level)
    3. Steve McQueen (Race LeMans with your leg in a cast and nearly win? My god)
    4. Bellof (Record holder, Porsche driver)
    5. Ickx (Porsche driver, Belgian )
    6. Mario in mario kart................... who makes racing this fun?Smile [:)]

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

Many people remarking that Senna won the '90 title crashing Prost car.

NONE remeber that Prost won the '89 title crashing Senna car.

Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. You just can't talk about one, without talking about the other. They where true rivals.

Lewis Hamilton reminds very much of Ayrton. A passionate, risk taking driver. Of course, Lewis does his sh*t from time to time, but watching Silverstone, on such rain, really made me remember Donnington Park in '93. For me, that was the pinnacle of Senna career, and the crowning of the king.

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

depends what you put behind racing... I'll just name my favourite pro drivers here :)

    f1 racing
    1. schumacher because he was fast, had attitude, and well, the first time I saw him back in the 90's, it kinda clicked, I knew I'd be following his exploits over the years
    2. senna because of his driving (throttle stabber, can't think of another way of doing it myself, despite jackie stewart's opinion on such throttle work), his attitude, insight etc.
    3. gilles villeneuve because he was a fuxing hero, just like ronnie peterson, croud favourite hero would could never win a championship... I love how he drove to the limits, exiting corners with opposite lock, how he kept racing even with the front wing barring his view of the track etc.
    4. jackie stewart, no so much for his driving, but for his excellent ability to communicate and explain the things of driving/racing to people... he is probably the most interesting sportsman to listen to !

    rallye
    1. sebastien loeb because this dude just knows how to drive a rallye car... great driver, down to earth person, he's just great !
    2. colin mcrae because of the whole pedal to the metal attitude... not the fastest, but he drove flat out, and he used to drive a lgeacy, just like my dad ! Maybe they're both discussing about it up there :)

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

Stuck between a few; Stefan Bellof , Derek Bell or Steve McQueen. (All notable for drving Porsches). In rallying it's either Walter Rohrl (Audi Quattro legend and now Porsche test driver aswell as modern day 'Ring King) and Richard Burns (all round nice guy and World Rally Champion, sadly died due to a brain tumour.

Here's a list of my fave drivers in different series.

    BTCC Past: Frank Biela

    BTCC Present: Mike Jordan

    LM24 Hour Present: Tom Kristensen

LM4 Hour Past: Jacky Ickx/Derek Bell

    DTM: Tom Kristensen

    F1: Button and Massa

    F1 past: Schuey/Moss

    WRC peresent: Chris Atkinson

Nascar (don't like it but hey): JPM

Driver with biggest balls award: Mark Donohue (look up Porsche 917/30 on wiki)

    Massa delivers, Ferrari fails.

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

I have a lot of favourite drivers. What better way to list them all than with a selection of videos?

    Rallying:

Ari Vatanen Video from 1983 Manx Rally
Jimmy+Colin Mcrae-Like father, like son. Videos from 1984 Scottish Rally, and 2002 Rally Germany.
    Marcus Gronholm Compilation video
Chris Atkinson - Did very well in this years Rally Finland, managing to come back from behind to snag a podium spot. In a new car too. Footage is from last years Finnish rally.
Mikko Hirvonen- Doing a great job of keeping Loeb on his toes. Footage, again, from last years Finnish Rally.

Will post again later with my favourite F1 drivers.

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

I really like Okinawa's selection's and for sure those were stunning drivers (Clay was great) but these are my favourites:

The legend, the best one, the greatest, the incredible, "Nivola", il Mantovano volante, Tazio Nuvolari

You just have to think about this pic. He was racing and suddenly the steering wheel came off and he put a pipe wrench to keep driving his car. Than he passed trough the pit lane and he threw the steering wheel to his mechanics without stopping to repair it (this pic is about that precise moment). He made 15 laps to finish the race with the pipe wrench instead of the steering wheel... on a 1939 car...

HE was the inventor of the drift (in those years with those cars that was the fastest way to drive a car)and he made many AMAZING deeds (just search Tazio Nuvolari on Google).

IMO the BEST DRIVER EVER!!! THE LEGEND!!!

Than I put, from the older to the most recent, some other drivers that IMO, have written a piece of motorsport history:

    Circuit racing:

Alberto Ascari, Jacky Ickx, Stefan Bellof, Gilles Villeneuve, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher.

    Rallying:

Sandro Munari, Walter Rohrl (The best rally driver ever), Markku Alen, Henri Toivonen, Jean Ragnotti, Colin McRae, Sebastien Loeb.

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

Keiichi Tsuchiya. Not only the inventor of drifting as we know it but one of the best racing drivers in history. You have to be good if you can be so far in front in a professional racing series that you have time to drift just for something to do.

Also look at what he can do with any car it's amazing.

    Re: Your favourite racing driver?

    Laurent Aiello.
    French. May 69
    Retired.

94' France Touring Car Champion (Peugeot Sport 405 Mi16)
    97' STW Champion  (Peugeot 406)
    98' Le Mans 24hrs winner (Porsche GT1)
99' BTCC Champion (RML Nissan Primera)
    01' Sebring 12hrs winner (Audi R8)
02' DTM Champion (ABT Audi TTR)

He's now jet skiing for fun and was EF1 champion in 06.

I like him because he adapted to very different cars and was always competitive even in single seaters.

The difference between Tazio and Keiichi is that Keiichi has a lot of power and a lot of grip to make the car sliding and smoking... try to do that in a 1930 car... and I said before, just make a small research on Google about Tazio and you'll see what I was refering to.

I know about Keiichi and probably his father was also greater than him but they drive in years where the motorsport engineering was making giant steps of progress. I think that also you and me will be able to drive a 1960 car pretty fast but I don't think that we'll be able to drive a 1930 car... pretty fast... Wink [;)]

    If it ain't a GT-R it ain't a car.

I know what you mean but Tazio didn't make drifting a sport. He just did what he had to do to win the race like everybody else.I don't really agree with Tazio not needing a lot of power though.

Didn't he drive an auto union type C. Didn't that have like 600 horsepower also on 1930's tires which aren't good at all. Yes i respect him as a driver but he is not my favourite.
