Factory i actually spoke to someone on your team before posting, knowing how TRC conducts itself, i wanted to make sure they understood this was happening so it didnt't affect the reputation. Instead i find they are ok with this even though every other team i have spoken to is not.

You should know the teams pay little attention to what Turn 10 say is ok, up till a few months ago they were ok with bump drafting! Did any of the teams do it? No

The teams should be responsible enough to police themselves and agree on a rule set amongst themselves, and seeing as every other major team i have spoken to is not happy with it, i would think TRC would support this?

I agree with your arguement over the muscle cars but they been dicussed so many times and Turn 10 still refuse to admit their mistake. This tire glitch however basically supports the broken physics of muscle cars, which is why i am so against it. By taking away as much grip as possible is just allows fo the car to have as much hp as possible.

Also they game sometimes freezes when you try the button sequence.

Whilst my words are strong i am extremly supprised that TRC are the main team involved in this, and slightly disappointed when trying to discuss this with some of your members they don't see the problem.

then its not a cheat no more cause no1 has an advantage over any1 else
( only advantage then is driver/tuner skill )

You know what Chrisupra you're right it is a glitch.  I think if you really boil it down the muscle cars in this game in general are a glitch of the PI system itself. When you start to add horsepower the PI on some of these cars drop.  In many B-class tracks the top car is actually a car with a PI rating of 679.  Yet everyone is out there using the muscle cars (believe me I would rather not).

I think many teams TDR, R2P and others could agree that this is something we should not use, but I don't trust the integrity of everyone out there.  People have been actively using this on the S-class scoreboards (and this is from when this was banned).  Personally I haven't messed around with it until last night because this is the first time it's come up since Turn 10 said it was OK to do, but the fact is this doesn't even inaccurately report the PI of the car.  The change in PI is accurate just like changing the brand of racing tires you have on your car.

Don't misunderstand my point here.  I'm playing devils advocate because this is the decision that was currently made by Turn 10.  If the teams agree that this shouldn't be used I haven't used it on any of my cars and I won't, but I'd like to be on a level playing field with those that can't abide by a gentlemen's agreement in an instance where things are legitimate and approved by Turn 10.

So if glitch = cheat why does everyone in R2P have muscle car times in the top 10 all over the production classes?  (I'd say TDR but you don't have many hot lappers).  Personally I think it's because Turn 10 said that's the way it is.  If they say that's the way it is with this as well I don't see the problem with that.

Totally different scenario Solo, don't mix the the Muscle cars in this.

Also, I think you are incorrectly reporting Turn 10's opinion based on the knowledge that was previously provided months ago. At this point please do not continue down that path you are not accurately reporting their sentiments.

I know you personally do not glitch and do not support glitching but this issue has obviously upset many and is bigger than originally thought so may need to be looked at again to see if anything should be done.

Yes there IS something wrong with that glitch. It is not allowed as not everyone knows how to do it and it shouldnt be allowed to happen.

Please dont continue to talk about this glitch. This HLC has been tainted...

I am surprised and diappointed that Turn10 'say' this is allowed. I do not use the Mucsle cars as they are a joke! You are running this hotlap challenge so you are responsible for this, YOU are responsible for keeping the competitors happy so im not concerned with what Turn10 say although they can't be ignored in these instances. If this is allowed then we are giving people the green light also to do this on the scoreboards. Im sure you as a TRC member and a long time Forza fan can frown upon this. This is a problem, im not concerned with what it does to PI or whatever. At the end of the day it is a cheat, consider any game in this world, a glitch is a cheat and is frowned upon. Now for Turn10 to actually and basically say that a cheat is OK'd so that the car is at porper PI is crazy.

Its their problem to begin with and why does this problem exist. Its lazy that is what it is. Get me in private chat if you want Solo, im here with a few discussing this now.

This game is FULL of flaws.  I am not sure where the meltdown is coming from here. We are talking about swapping one set of tires for another, something you are allowed to do on almost every car except the R class cars.  The fact that it is not done in the conventional way is the only difference.  It does not give car any unrealistic advantage, it follows the PI rules.

How does anyone know that people haven't been doing this since day 1?  We don't.  Something that is impossible to police is not going to be a winning battle.  I say that Turn 10 should either denounce it in a pitpass, or inform everyone how to do it.  If it is announced in the pitpass, everyone who cares that much about a couple of tenths on the track will find out how do it, and the playing field is level again.

I've got a weekly race in a few minutes Chris otherwise I'd be happy to get in a private chat and sort it out.   In the end this is something Turn 10 said was OK to do.  As a community I'm sure we can come to a conclusion as to if we agree to do this or not.  While the muscle car issue is a built in problem the fact is many of the community recognize that as not being right or not being accurate.  While this is an unintended problem the reality is the PI in these cases IS accurate.  In both situations you have 1 right and 1 wrong.  One is widely accepted as evidenced by the scoreboards. 

What you don't see on the scoreboards is that this tire issue is very likely being accepted by others already anyhow.  All of us who agree not to do this... that's fine, but we'll be at a disadvantage from the less scrupules racers.

HLC Season 3 going to start in a few weeks i noticed...well if i dont get any info about this new( yes its pretty new to me! ) glitch, Team IPR is not going to partecipate.

Factory how can you claim that the way someone sets a car up is a glitch, i even gave TRC a 206 set up with 55 55 tire pressures when i was in the team. So again something completely different, whilst something i don't like its the way they physics work.

The problem comes is that you have to glitch the game to get this to work, something i may add that causes freezing!. Muscle cars are a result of a poor physics engine in respect to dealing with rolling resistance.

Whilst people may have been doing this from day 1 i would have thought the teams would realise glitching is not right, why lower yourself to the lowest common denominator, with TRC having taken a stand on all other cheating matters why not on this too? When doing this your members must have known it was wrong or in the very least questionable but they still decided to do it, and they were the only ones from a team that took that deasion too.

Solo i would like to speak with you later on in private chat if it is ok because i want a conclusion and i want my team to participate. As i said before, this is a glitch and a glitch is a cheat. The option to do this should not be here and from here on out these cars should not be allowed, this is to avoid this situation again. As you can see now, R2P, TDR and indeed IPR now have taken a stand to this, we all want fairness and equality and this option with the tyre glitch does not offer this..

Factory this glitch has always been frowned upon and the people who have used it up till now have been regarded as cheaters. This 'feature' shouvd not exist and therefore should not be used. Yes this game has flaws but why should we allow them...

As I have already stated, until today I didn't even know this glitch existed.  Pretty hard to take a stand on something you know nothing about.

Another point that I would like to make here.  I am no longer in charge at TRC.  You know that Senna, so stop acting like I have some sort of control here.  I am only stating my opinions, not those of TRC.

And as a club TRC hasn't decided where we stand on this yet... I realize you're all ready to hang us since one of our members used this in his setup, but I know many of you have members in your own clubs that have done things like drafting U-class cars to tow R1 cars around the speedway.  Nobodys team has always made perfect decisions, but put the torches down until we can decide as a club where we stand.

Ermy for now I'm holding off on posting the tutorial until the community comes to a conclusion and I bring this up again with Turn 10.  I can assure you for the remainder of the week until we come to a conclusion the members of TRC won't use the setup ran by Pale Rider.

You make a good point here Henniker.  I just found out about this tire glitch a few days ago and once I found out that Che said it was OK and already widely used, I tentatively used it with a couple different cars (none of which are fast enough to post times on the scoreboards).  I was told multiple times that this was OK and I wrongly assumed that I was one of the last people to know about this trick.

I haven't seen the scoreboard for this HLC today other than here on the site (just woke up and am watching the Big 12 championship game) so I cannot say how many fellow TRC members have used my build/setup, but I don't think that we are the main team involved, rather I am the main person involved.  Like I said above, I wrongly assumed that everyone was already doing this and was assured this was a legit way to build the cars so that is how I built it.  I certainly hope the other clubs (and individuals not associated with clubs) will understand that the main problem is me and will not look at TRC in a negative light. 

Given the outspoken negativity towards this tire issue, I certainly won't use it again regardless of circumstances.  I also would like to see my time removed from the HLC so that I can post a time with a build not using this tire glitch.  My other builds are just as fast anyway but they have those ugly, stock Aston Martin rims :shudders:  and IMO, the real trick to fast times in this car is the gearing, not which rims you can fit under the car. 

In closing, I'd like to apologize to those that feel I have cheated in this HLC and I'd like to apologize to my TRC teammates for putting them in a situation where they have to defend themselves and other teammates.  I built the cars, I tuned the cars and I gifted them to teammates to use.  If other TRC members have posted times with these cars, it is very likely they didn't know how the car was built, only that it was fast.  This was an honest mistake made by me, based on the information that was provided to me at the time.

i had no idea such a glitch existed and IMO for that reason (most people dont know about it)
it shouldnt be used
but then on the other hand other people are going to always use it which may force everyone to use it anyway
