Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
running all the races in the tourny in 1 sitting would suck.............maby, lets try it.
and can we get Nur? D class could run 2 laps, C 2, B 2, A 3, S 3, U 3, R4 2, R3 3, R2 3, and R1 4.

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
Landin T10:^^Yes Sir. This is definitely still something I am going to persue, however it will take some time to start rolling them out. Im hoping to get one out before next weekend, but only time will tell.
Thanks,
Cant wait to see what comes out.
One suggestion would be put the tournaments on 6 Day 23 Hour cycle instead of 7 days to allow people from all over the globe a chance to race in the class they wish if it was just for a little while.

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
Introducing the Turn 10 Sunday Challenge! - Custom Tournament 1
Ok I want to officially announce the launch of the first recurring tournament to be added to the roster, called the "Sunday Special".
This tournament will start and finish in on day on Sundays, and will run from 12 till around 5 PM PST (not including qualifications)
There is a 70 Minute break in between each round, and in total there will be 4 rounds. 64 players per bracket and 3 tiers!
Additionally the tracks will rotate every week for a total of 5 weeks, before starting over again. DLC tracks are included, and are the qualifying track and first round race for each tournament. If you dont have the content you will know right away instead of halfway through the tournament.
Currently this tournament is geared towards the North American audience, however once we verify that the settings are correct we can make another duplicate tournament that will run during primetime GMT.
So if there are any problems with the scheduling I apologize. It should be set-up correctly, but if not we can try again next Sunday :)
Also this is the first (and not the last) custom tournament that has been launched, so if you are not fond of this style of tournament dont fret, as I am sure there will be one to suit your style in the near future!

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
It did but I enjoyed it . I won but a lot of people Quit out in between round and during games Its the racing thats important not what cars your in . Stock, tuned its the taking part thats important . Any one can do a hot lap but wining a race with real people, damage and everything that goes with it thats the real test. So come on lads this is a great challenge even if it was on the wrong day this is what its about.

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
BOO, I want a re-race. In case you didn't know the other lobby for the race had issues and the room crashed. Some how, after being dropped I advanced to the finals, but did not show up because I did not think I was in it. Look at who showed up to the race, I don't think anyone showed up from the second room. My name is Jczero and was the 10th fastest, so anyone behind me on the results did not show up either.
Tune stealer -if it is good, I will take it I need to spend more time on this game...

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
Well I am glad that everyone enjoyed the challenge, however I will need to make some adjustments to the scheduling.
So I have a few questions for anyone who participated. Was the time between the rounds adequate? Around what time did the first round start, and around what time did the final round end? (PST Please :)
As long as the scheduling of the tournament was long enough to allow breaks then I will simply move the date to Sunday for this week and we should be good to go!
Thanks,

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
I think it was pretty good. Most races got done with about 40 minutes until the next race which was enough time to take a break and then try to tune a car for about 20 minutes. Rounds were on time, but for some reason there was an hour and ten minutes in between rounds, not just a hour. I think the tournament ended about 9:00 EST, which would be around 6:00 PST, I think.

It wasn't a split lobby though. We had all 8 people in the lobby, the race started, then we were stuck in the loading screen for about 5 minutes, and then I got kicked. Not sure what happened to everyone else, and it wasn't a split lobby issues.
I'm just mad because I had been running times a second to two seconds faster than everyone I had been going against, and had a very good shot at winning.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the duration between rounds is set to 70 Minutes for scheduling reasons. Im glad to hear that everythin else ran smoothly. I have gone ahead and changed the date for next weekend's challenge, so it should show up on Sunday morning instead of Saturday :) Edit: I have also created another duplicate tournament geared towards the European Crowd! I hope we get enough participation to keep both tournaments alive and well! Thanks,

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
One request I would like to make... please please please don't qualify if you don't intend to race. There are 10 or so other tournaments out there right now that have become frustrating to participate in because you're lucky if 1 or 2 others show up to race. This tournament overhaul is an attempt to give the system a shot in the arm and increase participation. Additionally I'm sure many of you could qualify and run in both... the reason there are 2 is so more people can participate. You're certainly welcome to run both, but it would be ideal to give others a shot if you run one not running the other would be spiffy.

The only way for you to have more participation is to remove the class events. They are to often and no one feels the need to run in them. What you should do is hold one tournament that qualifies during the weekdays and has its races on Saturday, have the sunday challange, and have the hotlap tourney. This way, there are less to run so it is easier to focus on them. Also, if you want more of the top racers to participate in these make them apply to the hotlap season so that the drivers feel the need to compete in them, not just qualify for them.

Exactly my opinion. Looking forward for the new tourneys!

Re: Online Tournament Overhaul!
There was a problem with the week 2 Sunday challenge. The Tsukuba race where the setting was for 20 laps showed 21 billion laps in the lobby. The race never ended :( Apparently EVERYONE from race 1 quit out and advanced... NOBODY from our race quit out and it says the race didn't even exist in the first place. The other piece of feedback I would have for this race would be the track... Tsukuba is not a great track for racing at all in a class this fast. I got into 4 or 5 wrecks because every time I tried to get past someone they squeezed down on me and wrecked me.
