Disagreement is fine, but deceiving someone out of Forza Motorsport 2 credits (the currency of the game) is wrong, i.e., fraud, and if you check Xbox Live's Terms of Use, you will find this wording:

"Publish, distribute or disseminate any topic, name, material, file or information that incites, advocates, promotes, depicts, constitutes or expresses child pornography, profanity, hatred, bigotry, racism, illegal drug use, gratuitous or graphic violence or criminal or fraudulent activity."

Well lets be clear about your quote.  What you quoted is found in the communications section of the TOS.  It's a blanket statement about Xbox Live and is not game specific.  Again, real fraud is a criminal activity and that is what they are speaking to, not posting fake "money cheat" cars on Forza 2.

Sorry Snowowl but I'm afraid you won't win this one in my mind.  I'm speaking in terms of reality about real fraud and you're talking about someone being defrauded out of fake video game credits.  It's apples to oranges at this point so let's just agree to disagree like I've already said.

Fraud is fraud regardless of real money or in game money...  The difference is the consequences for the action.  Real Money fraud= jail time and arrest..  Forza money fraud= banning from the game.  Both have consequences and both are fraud by definition, the meaning doesn't change just because the value is different.

I agree with Jerod. If it took me x amount of minutes to earn the credits and then I purchased a car that had the intention of deceiving me with false advertising it is fraud. So in this virtual world the virtual police will administer a penalty worthy of the virtual crime.

You take away some time from be by your deception and you get everything you deserve.

As one last note, either take this to PM or see it deleted from this thread. This thread is not for discussion of the validity of the Auction house infractions but to communicate assistance between those kind enough to help clean it up.

    greetings people.
    My thoughts on this are.
Duping credits out of anyone by any means is fraud and they should be banned,
also if people are stupid enough to buy these cars then its their fault.

and just another thought....if anyone is caught selling undesirable cars in the auction house
just ban them permantly out of the auction house and take all their credits off them.

    cheers

Re: Looking for Volunteers to Report AH Abuse

its funny, I actually bought one of those cars, "make big credits", had the big red square to remove, it was only 15k and I wanted to know what it had underneath, I was pretty much 99.9999% sure it wouldnt have anything useful it said "sell lots of cars like this, loser!!"

lol I figured it would be something like that, but anyway, I have noticed a decline in the porn and money glitch cars out there, either this is working or those sellers have gotten bored of the game or both....

I have a question for the mods: when we report these violations, what actually happens on your end? does it take awhile to get to you, or do you go right in and grab the car and ban the offender? If you miss it, ie.: he pulls it, it sells, etc. do you watch the GT for further offenses or it just gets dropped. Just curious, thanks....

Limit your search either to Nissan cars or to Fairladies, and at least 25% of the cars have some porn or hentai theme on them. A shame, actually, since some of them are obviously made by people who're really good with the livery editor.

Edit: Forgot to ask if there is really no option to file a complaint in the AH, or if I just didn't find it yet.

agreed about the nissan fairladys, but it was ALOT more than 25% when I first started looking in the AH way back when.

To file a complaint, go here:

too bad it isnt right on the AH....T10, you listening?

Each report filed goes directly to Turn 10 (note the address of the email), which is the purpose of the Report Abuse form.

This thread is about cleaning up the Auction House, not debating the content of those cars which are in violation of Xbox Live's Terms of Use, Sect. 8, USE OF COMMUNICATION FACILITIES - http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/legal-tou.htm .  I suggest you read that, and understand this is not a Turn 10 rule or one special to Forza Motorsport 2.  It is Xbox Live's ToU which is being violated by the cars.

Re: Looking for Volunteers to Report AH Abuse

if there is another auction house section is forza 3 turn10 needs to put a huge warning label on the front page of the manual explaning what is illegal to do on the ah.

this way there's no excuses from people saying"why have i been banned i only drew a pair of boobers and did'nt think anything was wrong with it"

the nudity paints should be an instant ban, there no excuses for it.i admit i got banned because of this buy buying a boober car and laughing my socks off and showing the missus and then when she said get rid of it or i'll never see a real pair again i got rid, stupidly i put it right back where i got it from without thinking there are young kiddies who play this game and dont need to be seeing stuff like this but i got banned and i accepted it.never been daft since

joints, duped cars etc should still get the first 7 day ban, they should have read the manual and this is a final warning,if it happens again then its a permanent ban.

i once read someone saying porn cars are not bad because nudity and sex is natural,it sure is but they would'nt go out and buy there kid a porn movie would they?..........i frikkin hope not anyway.

also for further warning instructions, perhaps in the auction house itself it could have a page or a scrolling message saying what is illegal on there

Re: Looking for Volunteers to Report AH Abuse

Xbox LIVE Terms of Use and Code of Conduct, which everyone agrees to in creating an Xbox LIVE account contains:

    "8. USE OF COMMUNICATION FACILITIES
Your use of the Service is subject to the Code of Conduct. You also agree not to do any of the following while being connected to the Service:
-Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity) of others.
-Publish, distribute, or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent, or unlawful topic, name, material, file or information.
-Publish, distribute or disseminate any topic, name, material, file or information that incites, advocates, promotes, depicts, constitutes or expresses child pornography, profanity, hatred, bigotry, racism, illegal drug use, gratuitous or graphic violence or criminal or fraudulent activity.
-Create a Gamertag or use text other profile fields that may offend other members. This includes comments that look, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate any of the following: profane words/phrases, sexually explicit language, sexual innuendo, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances, or illegal activities."

Everyone is warned before they follow through to create an account.  Even if they don't read it, they agree to abide by it.  It is the governing regulations on Xbox LIVE, not a Turn 10 or Forza Motorsport 2 rule.  There should be no need for additional warning signs, etc.

When you spot something like that, instead of posting information here, use the Report Abuse form and submit the information to Turn 10 directly and without fanfare.
