Re: The Scoreboard Wipe Has Begun - Updated 9/8/07
I can not believe what has happened to all my posted times !
EVERYTHING IS GONE !
ALL my D,C,B,A,S,U,R4,R3,R2,R1 times are gone.
I have logged 300 hours playing Forza 2 since launch, Spent $8,000 on a triple screen VRX set-up and endless hours setting it up. And just because I used an Elan on D-Class and posted top 1000 with it, everything is gone... including "champion" status online.
Che - I am one of the approx. 3300 players who is going to be VERY pissed of by this... I do not believe it.
I WANT MY HARD EARNED TIMES AND "CHAMPION" STATUS BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During the period of time wherein triggering the AWD glitch was possible, you could trigger it in an AT car by ramming a wall at full throttle with significant speed. I triggered it on accident more than once but luckily noticed it before I could record any times.
You won't catch them all with a MT wipe.

I've heard you could do it in AT. That's the one area I don't agree with this. As long as there is some doubt in anyone's mind whether it can be done in AT or not everyone should be wiped. I know I've seen some suspicous looking AT times up there.
To Che I'll say thanks for the comprehensive update. Hopefully this all comes off and the boards are relatively legit (atleast for the top 1000 drivers). I'll add a few things here for you. First, this kind of communication was what was needed all along. Alot of my anger and frustration would have been calmed by real updates and communication from you guys. Secondly, for the love of god, if and when there is a Forza 3 build in a tool that allows you to easily and painlessly remove glitched times or glitched cars without having to wipe thousands and thousands of legit players completely off every board. Thirdly, I want to see some real punishment to the AWD cheats who knowingly abused this glitch to get to the top. These are the people most at fault for the situation. We all know who they are and at the very least they should be banned from posting times if not banned from the game and XBL all together.
To those upset who are waking up to realize all their times have been deleted. I feel your pain. More than anyone. I think it's safe to say I'm the single player affected most by this. Pre-wipe I was top 10 in not only hotlap, but also career and was closing in on top 10 in exhibition. Thankfully, I didn't spend a whole lot of time on the time trials simply because I didn't like the car and track combinations. A huge amount of time and effort got tossed out the window yesterday. But, as much as that sucks I am happy that the boards will be legit again.

I can't really see playing this game much anymore. Thanks for ruining it.
MS and Forza are a complete *** JOKE, don't even support the G25 like every REAL sim racer does, even the arcade racers on every other platform support the G25.

The first time it happened because I was getting really angry with a Pontiac GTO on Sunset Infield. The second time it happened when someone put me in a wall.

Re: The Scoreboard Wipe Has Begun - Updated 9/8/07
I will post the stats on how many users the MT wipe will affect after the database query tool finishes crunching.
The scoreboard reset shouldn't affect your career savegame profile, i.e., you'll still be able to "finish" the game even though your career scoreboard entry has been reset.
With regards to inducing the AWD glitch with an AT - after we're done with the majority of the wipes, I will need you guys to report to me individual cheat/glitched times we may have missed (because if it's possible to do the AWD glitch with an AT, we will have missed some) and I will need to manually delete them from the boards.
Thanks.

Re: The Scoreboard Wipe Has Begun - Updated 9/8/07
Elan wipe? How about all of my legitimate times for every Class of car and tracks!
100's of hours put into non profit Free Runs just for notoriety and GONE... just like that!
How can you guys even begin to compensate for all the time and effort not just on my end , but
all of the other guys n Gals in the top 1000 ,( the NON -Cheaters) that have done the same? Yes I had fun running 1000's of laps , Forza is the hands down, the best racer out there
but alot of time and effort were put into getting my times mostly in the 100 - 99 % Rankings !
I don't think I had 1 Elan time up there ! It's just not right ! I think if you guys gave me 10 -Xbox
360's, I'd still not feel compensated ! Maybe a Muscle car Pack, hehehe.........A complete wipe would Suck , but at least fair!
Sorry to be so Blunt but man , Same crap w/ EA's Motor City Online !
So much time and effort put in, and , well you probably know the rest.
Yep , sounds like whining ! well .....it Is ! Anyone listening?........hmmmmm
Guess I'll just Shut up, go back, and start to redeem myself.
P.S., I'm sure the Divorce papers will be arriving shortly.......LOL....Not ! There goes the Mach.....Prolly the Vette too ! Anyone know a good attorney? jk, I do have a life outside Forza...
...............Thanks

R1R N1GHTMARE:
This whole thing has been handled as 'bout as bad as it can be handled from a customer service point of view.
These boards should have been COMPLETELY wiped. Then, these guys ignore the questions, ignore PM's. You can't ignore customer's requests for information in any other business. This has been a joke.
I agree 100%. I too am affected, since I have used a manual tranny since day one. I never ever drove an Elan, and never had one of the glitch muscle cars until after the patch.
THEY SHOULD HAVE WIPED THE ENTIRE SCOREBOARD.

Honestly...grow up...No one cares how much you spent..I would think all that money and time spent would be for the enjoyment of the game..not some stupid rank on a board. Go outside and take deep breath of fresh air. I highly doubt turn 10 is doing it this way just to piss people off. Grow up..stop whining. Cheers to turn 10 for taking some action and legitimizing the score boards. Not many game companies would bother to do it. If they didn't do this your precious scoreboard times would always be suspect no matter how much you come on here and claim how legit you are. If you have the skill then it should be no problem getting your time posted back on there...In fact I would think someone who truly loves playing the game would find this a new and refreshing challange...I don't understand all the pissy comments. It's just a game.

Fishstick I smell a comic strip outta this one :) I for one can't wait for my times to be wiped. I just wish this was a full wipe. All the time and effort to pussyfoot around this could've been spent makin DLC and stuff.

Unless there is a change in our plan, yes, times driven in an automatic are safe, if there is no Elan time.

Re: The Scoreboard Wipe Has Begun - Updated 9/8/07
Why are people compalining. Who cares. You know what times you have posted who cares if everyone else knows or not. Like it has been said before, if you just play the game you will go back to the times you had.
Which brings up a question. Does this clear your Local scoreboard? Cause if you have your fastest times posted on your xbox then you will know where you stood so you can post a similiar time back on live.
I dont see the big deal, I say do a full wipe. If that makes people all of a sudden not want to play the game then fine, go cry elsewhere.

Re: The Scoreboard Wipe Has Begun - Updated 9/8/07
chespace:If you've posted a time in the top 1000 with the Elan, or have posted a time with MT before 8/25, all your scores will be wiped. Every time, in every board, across all boards (hotlaps, time trials, trueskill, career).
Do not post new times to the scoreboards before your gamertag gets the wipe. After your gamertag has been wiped, it should be okay to post new times and you shouldn't get wiped again.
No guarantees as this is the first time we're trying this, but in theory that's how this should work.
Why couldn't times posted after the 25/8 be preserved ?
