Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Well, my freezing issue is fixed. First, I deleted a car with a custom paintjob that I got from the AH, it was the Seat Cupra GT Prototype. That fixed about half my garage. Then I was still getting a lot of my American cars missing. I went into list mode, list by region and went up and down the list until it stopped at a car and froze. The next car it froze on was the #24 Volvo S60 R. Another car I bought off the AH. I restarted, went directly to it ASAP, sold it, and now the game is flawless. No missing car icons, no freeze ups, all is perfect. The best thing I can say is try listing the cars by region and go from top to bottom and pay attention to where it freezes. Hope this can help some of you who can still access your cars at all.

Also, I just noticed that both of these problem causing cars were ones that I had not yet unlocked in career mode. So that could be a possible cause for freezes too I guess. Having too many cars that you're not really supposed to have yet at that point in the game. Who knows...

The day Turn 10 fixes this freezing issue is the day that hell freezes over. Its not that they care, they already have your money....

I just noticed that everytime I try to view the "friends" time trial scoreboards the game freezes and I have to hardboot the console. Has this been reported by anyone else?

Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

EVER SINCE THE LAST UPDATE I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM WITH THE GAME FREEZING AT RANDOM TIMES AND CARS FLOATING WITH NO WHEELS.

I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THE FREEZING PROBLEM, AFTER A 45 MINUTE PHONECALL TO XBOX SUPPORT WHERE THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO NEXT, I AM GIVING UP ON FORZA 2.

ANY CHANCE OF A REPLY FROM CHE OR ANYONE ELSE AT TURN 10????????????????????

Re: Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

Sadly probally not!! I've PM'd Che and e-mailed who apparantly matters ref simular problem and not heard a thing back, other than sorry about that but we can't do a thing about it!! mine froze while saving game, so I've got the Tampered profile delete and start from scratch message so can not visit AH to bid, buy or sell or send or collect gifted cars.

I know they are busy but I see they have time to be putting together a DLC instead of helping there wage payers (us) shocking customer support

Re: Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

Had another call from microsoft tonight and according to them they have had no other reported cases of consoles freezing after the update. All they could suggest was to send the game to them and they would replace it.

Re: Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

They have not and will not address the freezing issue, i findit hard to belive that not one person from turn 10 has replied to any of the MANY freezing threads in this forum.

Its not fair on the community to have no answers.

Bit gutted really as this is a great game, but the freezing is becoming unbearable now.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

I know I am preaching to the choir here...

My XBox360 started freezing in the garage, as many others have said.  Then, I spent one afternoon preparing a bunch of Lotus 135R's for sale (the car in my sig).  It seemed that all the bouncing around the menus put even more stress on the console than flipping through the cars in my garage.  It froze on me about 5 times, in between which I would give the console between 15-30 minutes to shut down before I would turn it on again.

On the 6th try, after an hour break, I tried to turn my xbox on only to get the 3 Red Rings of Death.  Despite being only 5 months old, and logging far more hours on R6 Vegas than Forza with no freezing, I had to exchange my 360 for a new one via Gamestop's replacement plan.  Luckily, I was able to keep my harddrive.

    RIP old friend.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Devil [6]my console has actually scratched two discs. one was replaced by game stop the other makes a really expensive coaster. my console would freeze during gameplay, in the garage and certain tracks. the drive was constantly spooling up and stopping all the while making a horrible noise. console is now in texas for repair. everyone wants to say that software can't make hardware fail but let's be realistic. it has whether it's just misplaced data on the disc that the console is trying to find or it's just stressing the hardware to much. when is microsoft and turn ten gonna step up and put forza 2 on the disc replacement program? i spend alot of money on my toys and don't really like it to be a waste. please ms and turn ten fix these things quick or sony is going to eat you alive.

Re: Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

Sadly you only really see them when someone flames T10 , thats just before they delete or lock the thread

We had a mod in the PROFILE TAMPERED thread who looked like he was going to look into it after directing us to the thread, needless to say all gone quite since friday to be honest I've now lost all faith as these so called fixes (patches) just produce more problems as they are rushed out it seems

    Re: Freezing Loading One Race

probably not the XBox in this case.  If it's just 1 track that won't load the disc is probably scratched or corrupt where that track is involved.  I would try renting another copy of Forza or if you have a store warranty exchange the disc.  If all else fails try some at home disc cleaning remedies.

Re: Game Freezing - Any chance of a reply from TURN 10????????????

Based off your descriptions, This IS Most Likely Hardware related, and the time of the update and you noticing your console starting to near the end of its life are more or less a coincidence.

why do people automatically say the dashboard updates/game updates cause the freezing/Red Lights, when 99.9999999% of the time its the hardware failing.

Wheels Not loading, = DVD Drive Read Failure or GPU Render Failure, take your pick.
Freezing = GPU/CPU Overheat, or Drive read failure.

its like me saying my AVG Virus scan update freezes my PC and killed the mainboard, and Calling Grisoft asking why my PC no longer boots up.

So Heres My response, From my heart....

    1. Save yourself time, call 1-800-4-my-xbox, tell them it overheats and games are freezing. The Xbox Support Associates Do NOT have a Huge Knowledge in what games are doign what with the system, and Games dont kill the console, the console kills itself while running the game (overheating etc etc etc), they have a guide sheet they follow and ask questions from. Do some games run the hardware more than others sure, but heres soemting that will flip you out, me and about 200 of my friends ot the 3 RLOD running XBL Arcade Titles, so.... its a Problem waiting to happen on the consoles that havent been Modified by MS (added heatsink/65nm etc)

    2. Che is not a Tech Support Associate for Xbox Live hardware, Which is your problem.

    3. if your gonna shout in all caps/bold/large font at anyone.... please shout on Xbox.com Hardware Forums. (Asking nicely,), if you want to discuss this with a normal font and a normal tone of text, please, by all means continue posting here.

Re: @ Turn 10, PLEASE address the freezing issue.

Locking up on the Menus/Garage, its prolly a Heat/Memory Seating issue with the hardware, but if it only does it on FM2, Im not sure,

I did lock up once since the update, while zipping thru menus (as someone mentioned),

I can try and consort with che or turn10 people about this, but more than likely I wont have a response or be availible for comment, im merely the forum mod, i do not work at turn 10, Im on the completely opposite side of the USA than turn 10, lol.. so.....

I keep an external air purifier fan running behind the console to make sure it stays cool, as I have heard of the overheating problems and the problems with the USB-powered fans.  The 360 manages to stay cool this way, but I rarely run it longer than 3 hours at a time.  My 360 was only about five months old when it bricked.

The game tends to lag around the menus, and as I tune and paint a fair quantity of cars, I zip through the upgrades and garage menus quickly.  This seems related to the information that has to load each time one scrolls over a different car and part.  I noticed it especially if I would use the right trigger to go directly to the end of the garage or an upgrade menu.  I wonder if this jumping around could be related to the scratches on the game disks.  I checked mine last night and I had a small amount around the outside.

Game freezing when trying to load one track

Whenever i try to load the second track (Laguna Seca) in the Free-Breathing Challenge, the xbox barrels along fine until just before it shows the second little driving tip message, then i can hear the cd stop spinning and the game never loads.

It sits there and plays music and keeps loading little tips, but never any actual race.

Ive tried cleaning the cd (wiped it on my pants, technicial) but it hasnt changed.

Has anyone else had this issue?? If it is the cd, i assume i can narrow it down by trying it in my friends xbox since he is on a high level in Forza as well.

Re: Game freezing when trying to load one track

That generally is an error in reading the disk.  If you can borrow your friend's disk and try that on your own Xbox 360, that would be verification that the disk is bad if it works properly with his.
