    Re: Disc is corrupted error

    Hey Dodgey,

Not sure if it's a European issue or just related to the release in Europe. I'm from the US. I threw in FM3 to make sure it isn't my disc drive or something and sure enough, read 1st time. Then I tried Mass Effect 2.... same thing, popped in and loaded. Now I've been trying to load up FM4 since I last posted! and still it won't read.

Also, I should add to the spec of my xbox, I upgraded the 20G hdd to a 120G over a year ago.

There was an update last night. I don't know if the bans have spiked since then, but I don't remember seeing this many complaints before the update. The European release might simply be coincidental with the update.

That is an interesting point. I have the feeling that I read somewhere, that the patch may have been a response to a piracy issue that occured prior to release, but I can't remember where I read this so I can't be sure. It would somehow make a lot of sense to me. Aggressive software patch designed to guarantee genuine copies are in the drive, Old Xbox's unable to handle it,and keep failing this aggresive test. Just speculating.

Any way, I have sent my email to Microsoft and I urge all others to do the same.

Obtained my standard edition of Forza Motorsport 4 this morning from Tesco's in Horsham, West Sussex. Have been having problems all day with Disc Unreadable errors, unexpected crashes requiring a full reboot and scenery dissapearing issues.

    I am running a pre-owned original 2007 Xbox 360 20Gb

Have had no issues with any other games and play lots of other titles regularly. I am an Xbox live Gold member and play online every day.

The FM4 forum is starting to fill up with a large number of threads regarding this issue and many posters are also reporting getting a disc corrupt error followed by an Xbox live ban due to disc piracy. Everyone of these people have complained of having legitimately purchased the game and are outraged by what has happened to them. They are advising anyone having related disc error issues to refrain from using the game in case this Xbox live ban should happen to them.

As a paying customer, I am very anxious about the above issues and would ask respectfully that you respond as soon as possible, even if it's just to say that you are aware of a problem and are attempting to gather enough information to fix it.

    Thanks

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

Just out of curiosity, which disc seems to be causing the disc read errors? I have a friend in the UK who's been getting that with disc 2, so he gave up trying. I advised he not try again lest he should find his console banned.

If the update is causing the problems, it should be possible to disconnect from Xbox live, clear the system cache, and run the game without the patch. I will try this this evening.

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

yep happened to me too. bought the $80 limited edition. had many disc errors, and got banned. thanks forza, thats some customer support you have there. Im on an older box with a dvd drive that I had to replace because the old one went. it was a good swap though, matched drive types and all so no flashing or console modding was required. so why the hell am I banned???

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

I'm having similar problems. Whenever I try to enter a race, no matter what mode it begins to load and then I get a "Disc Unreadable" error and it kicks me back to the dash. Everything else works fine though...

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

I strongly believe this is due to the new disc format causing issues with old consoles

Has anyone had the problem with a new slim console?

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

I've got the pirated console message as well. Spoke with two seperate individuals with Xbox Live, not Turn 10. The first advised me to go get a new disc from wherever I purchased the game and then it should all go back to normal. Well it did not. Upon my second call, the next woman told me, after checking my account out, that I do not have any pending bans or anything on my XBL account. She said that this is solely on Turn 10, not Xbox. So there must be an issue with the Turn 10 servers and their own piracy detection. I hope this gets resolved soon. I love the game, I just wish to be able to play all of it.

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

So, I gather that everybody was able to get both discs installed before the disc read errors started popping up.

    That about right?

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

I have the same problem. I get the 'disc unrecognised' message and have to open and close the tray quite a few times until it works. All my other discs work fine

I'm going to stop playing until it gets sorted because I don't want to get banned

Right. I had no issues installing either disc. It worked fine for the first day, then POW. Nothing available in community.

mine is an old white phat one with a 60gb hdd, i think it may be to do with the recent update rather than the region by the look of things. but your problem is identical to this by the sound of it.

    Re: Disc is corrupted error

I've sent four emails to the Turn 10 email address the moderators keep giving out. I sent the first one Wednesday night. No responses yet. No Tweets. Nothing. I check every Turn 10 website and they are acting like theres no issue.
