SBG 1000:
There was an update last night. I don't know if the bans have spiked since then, but I don't remember seeing this many complaints before the update. The European release might simply be coincidental with the update.
That is an interesting point. I have the feeling that I read somewhere, that the patch may have been a response to a piracy issue that occured prior to release, but I can't remember where I read this so I can't be sure. It would somehow make a lot of sense to me. Aggressive software patch designed to guarantee genuine copies are in the drive, Old Xbox's unable to handle it,and keep failing this aggresive test. Just speculating.
Any way, I have sent my email to Microsoft and I urge all others to do the same.
Obtained
my standard edition of Forza Motorsport 4 this morning from Tesco's in
Horsham, West Sussex. Have been having problems all day with Disc
Unreadable errors, unexpected crashes requiring a full reboot and
scenery dissapearing issues.
I am running a pre-owned original 2007 Xbox 360 20Gb
Have
had no issues with any other games and play lots of other titles
regularly. I am an Xbox live Gold member and play online every day.
The
FM4 forum is starting to fill up with a large number of threads
regarding this issue and many posters are also reporting getting a disc
corrupt error followed by an Xbox live ban due to disc piracy. Everyone
of these people have complained of having legitimately purchased the
game and are outraged by what has happened to them. They are advising
anyone having related disc error issues to refrain from using the game in case this Xbox live ban should happen to them.
As a paying customer, I am very anxious about the above issues and would
ask respectfully that you respond as soon as possible, even if it's
just to say that you are aware of a problem and are attempting to gather
enough information to fix it.
Thanks
Just happy to be here.
