    Re: QUESTION ABOUT SELLING TUNERS!

    Newby here :-|

I really like the game... Last game I used tuning in was GTR2 (for PC)
I'm not so good at it though, really do like to do tuning myself and am planning on putting together a B-class race E30 M3 beemer.

Is there a simple guide in these forums to help me with that? Haven't found one yet but I'm terrible with the search functions so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the faq though and I might just become an online racer! ;)

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT SELLING TUNERS!

I'm really not getting this forum :? where's my Reply button? And I've posted something (via quick reply) 30min ago and it doesn't show...

Does this forum contain any guides to help set up the first time? I'm not (yet) looking foor top-performance race tunes but I really like to improve my E30 BMW's performance. Now only have spoilers and adjustable suspension installed....

But the problem is I really don't know where to start. I've really lost my feel over all this since I stopped playing GTR2.
Is it best to start with downforce or suspension setup? can I best adjust damping or springs at first? what tire pressure should be used at first? I guess springs need to be set up quite firm? but what's best foor damping?

Also should I wait with upgrading engine performance and tire spec or should I install those parts before tuning?

Sorry about all the questions but my head is really spinning over all the options :o

    Re: QUESTION ABOUT SELLING TUNERS!

if its an A or S class car (and some B class)

Do all of your tire upgrades, handling upgrades, and aero upgrades first, then move on to the engine.

If its for Nurburgring then you probably wont be using full tire upgrades but mostly engine upgrades, vice versa on a short track.

    NEWB

Hey guys, i'm a noob as well and i just loged onto the FM2 website in a while.  I'm really fascinated about the tuner garage deal, but I'm a bit confused on the details...

Is it a virtual thing on the multiplayer options like the car club deal in FM1 or is it a single console thing?  I've ben working on some basic art myself, nothing that can be remarkable right away, but if anyone has any tips on filling in shapes that may make characters and such let me know.  Other than that are there any sites or links for tuning guides for specific systems on the car?

This has got my back into FM2, I hope to see some of you on the track!

Re: Tuning Marketplace FAQ : READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING....

I have some tuned cars which I would like to sell. I have a friend who paints. I need some great drivers to test these tunes for me. Hopefully some well known names which could run a lap time that I could post and some feedback on the tunes. I am a decent racer/hotlapper but I like to think I make some very easy to drive competitive tunes. Would someone please tell me some names of the top guys who might be willing to test my tunes?

Your best bet would be to make a new thread on the TM, stating you are trying to create a new team and you require testers.

There are many great drivers frequenting the TM, so I am sure one of the guys will help you out.

    Thanks

I don't mean to ask a dumb question, but when you sell a tune, how does the process work?? I see no options to sell a car setup on the menu screens, so I assume that when you auction a car, the setup that is loaded on it goes with the car, whether it be the default or your own setup, right? For example, a car may have a default of 150lbs. of downforce on the rear. If I add 300lbs of downforce, and end up selling the car, does the car still have 300lbs. of downforce on the rear when the buyer gets the car? I'm just kinda confused on the subject... lol. Thanks to anyone who can clear it up for me. That's one of the reason why I haven't bought a tune, because I don't know if it's some hard process or as simple as buying a car pre-loaded with a tune from the auction house.

The tune goes with the car. Example... right now I have 3 different saved tunes for the Nissan Silvia S14... One B700 RWD grip tuned, an A850 AWD grip tune and an S888 RWD drift tune. If I wanted to sell any of those tunes, all I'd need to do would be to build an S14 with the correct parts combination to acheive the desired class then load the saved tune then list it on the AH and collect my cr's when it sells.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, this means you only sell the loaded setup and not all your setups that you have for that car???

    Thanks

Re: Tuning Marketplace FAQ : READ THIS FIRST BEFORE POSTING....

I keep reading these threads and have one question...do the tuners/painters make any REAL monies or are these exchanges purely for fun/Forza credits?

I understand people have hobbies so this may just be a "fun" way to pass time I guess....excuse my ignorance on the subject as I play mostly to beat the game and usaully play FPSs online

No real money. The fun is gained from feedback, great tunes and being a part of the community.

Also, selling a top tune, then the wrod spreading is a great feeling!

I play FPS too - This just got me hooked all over though.

    Its a good question!

I used to Run auto, until about a week ago, so all my cars were tuned that way. I have to say, since I have been running Manual, I am doing alot more work on the Gearing in a tune. I have friends who run auto still, and have commented that the gears seem better. IMO, buying a car which has been tuned for Manual Gears will be better - that said, as alot of guys still run Auto, buying those cars will no be an issue, as they will have been tuned in Auto too Smile [:)].

Its not that Auto Tuned cars are bad - just that you notice the small changes, which can make a bug difference, when running in Auto.

Hope that helps, and welcome to the TM!
