Formula 1 is definitely better than IndyCar, but you know something? I like something in this world called
diversity. I do enjoy the Schumacher-Alonso points race, but honestly, there's so much racing out there that people miss out on. A1GP is where the rising stars are for most of the middle of the season. It's the World Cup of Motorsports; you have almost no choice but to root for your home country, because you probably know the guy driving the car.
(In Canada's case, James Hinchcliffe is a Champ Car Atlantic driver... he drives for Forsythe Racing. Speaking of ChampCar, XboxRacer.com ran a faux CCWS season in the spring, using Codemasters' Formula Palmer Audi division in Toca Race Driver 3. A devoted IndyCar fan won the whole thing, but some guy named Wickedneoq took 2nd in the points. Palmer Audis are a lot like a mini A1GP car.)
IndyCar probably has the bigger event in its stable, that the world knows and trusts as an exciting race: the Indy 500. Unfortunately, no F1 teams take the chance to build an Indy-spec car and run it, because they have no class for American oval racing. F1 media wondered why Juan Montoya jumped ship to N'Car? They should have known all along why; he's been an oval racer since he won the 500. Same with Villeneuve (hopefully Italian media is right). We'll see how that turns out.
(How about showing some love to Panoz and license the new 2007 ChampCar in your game? After all, you go to the Roads, Atlanta and America!)
