Paint your car one of the colors you can use for vinyls, and then that color becomes an "eraser" of sorts.

Except that doesn't work terribly well on a metallic paint job...

That's correct, because you can't use metallic colors on a vinyl.  But using body colored vinyls to "cut out" or "erase" bits of other vinyls is the only way to do an "eraser".  If that's what you want, then you can't use a metallic colored car.

Crud, guess I can't do the paint job the easy way then... (instead of cutting part of a stock vinyl, I get to build it up from primitives.

Yo, is it possible to mirror a picture, like so :){ becomes }(: ? On one side.

Is there any way to copy something from one side and to the other without getting it upside down, or flipped in some other obscure way?

Hi. I'm a mechanic. Sometime soon.

Yea, you can mirror pix... lets say your :){ is y:10 x:10, then you only need to change x:10 to x:-10 and you should have }(:.

b²t: Nice tutorial, I knew you could transfer a panting from a Porsche to a Mazda, but had no idea how.

    Can't you read?
Read the lnes where it tells you how to create a new Vinyl group, and load that Vinyl group to the other side of the car, VOILA thats it, not mirrored/flipped.

Re: FAQ for Painting, click here before asking for help.

I can't seem to do this

"How do I copy a design from one car to another?

To copy a design from your vehicle to another of the same make and model go to the “Save Design” option in the “Paint Car” menu.  The second option is “Save to Design Catalog.”  To apply your design, go to the “Design Catalog” option in the “Paint Car” menu and you can see any designs saved to the catalog and select the appropriate design."

When I select another car and go to the paint menu, the design catalog is empty although I'm pretty sure I saved it under it..

    Can anyone help"

Re: FAQ for Painting, click here before asking for help.

Hello everyone, I have a question.

On one side of my car I have a flag and a number 1. Now when I went to the other side and selected 'Insert all from Right/Left Side' it put it there, but now the number is messed up and is facing the wrong way. Is there a way I can flip the number so it looks like smooth transition from first side to the other?

    Thanks

Rather than posting twice in 15 minutes, you could read through this thread and see that the answer has been given several times.  By the time it took you to post your bump, you'd already have found the answer.

I'm a little short on time, I would if I had the time.

But you have the time to bump your post after only 15 minutes?  If you're crunched for time, perhaps you should learn better how to manage what time you do have. :)

I have painted a car. Front is gray, back is blue. How do I make the transition from gray to blue gradual in stead of just the two colors? Like this picture?

Re: FAQ for Painting, click here before asking for help.

Save the design out as vinyl groups, one per side.

Then you can load those groups onto any car you want

Re: FAQ for Painting, click here before asking for help.

How do people apply these custom paint jobs that are major brands? (Playboy/Red Bull/ Marvel)

I have looked every where and I cannot find it. I tried asking the same question in the XBOX live forums, and this *** moderator named Snowowl keeps deleting my thread. What is with that?
