Ya but GTHD looks good actually, and never lied (so far) about the graphics.

Next Gen 2D Rims, 30+ Skylines, all the same with either different seconday color or race number... hmm

Ya and about the same time to work on it...o did i mention there is incar?

Re: First Look: Forza Motorsport 2 on Xbox 360

Hey che I remember you saying there will be some exclusive screens there is no need to make a magazine headline from the most recent build.

According to the updates I've read the game sometime last month got features just put in such as HDR and dirt effects.  Can we still expect to see those screens later today or is this all we are getting for today?  Just wondering since you said we'd get exclusive shots straight from the latest build of the game today.

Its quite a change being on the other side of the fence isn't it :)  You use to be the one looking to others for some screens or gameplay vids now its the other way around :D

some things could be tweaked on the hood reflections.. but its bettter than being forced to drive 2 inches off the ground :)

as for HDR and Dirt, i wanted to know the same thing...

Good thing because there is no grass. And the graphics really do not look better than PGR. I know people are gonna say O GRAPHICS MEAN NOTHING. Well when you are told there is 3d graphics that is what you excpect. When you are told it will look better than PGR that is what you excpect. Now a delay that I mentioned and asked over 3 weeks ago. Thanks for the delay. AND AMAZING SCREENS. THEY ARE REALLY GOING TO COMPETE WITH GTHD.

I think it already looks better than PGR3, but that's a subjective call between you and me.

I could never handle the "squirrel" cam view myself. Can anyone answer where the standard higher first person view was stationed on the cars in FM1?

The hood view is much better than a cockpit view in my opinion. Most cockpit views look more like the view a person would see from the back seat. I've never been able to see all the junk that gets shown in a cockpit view when I'm driving. At least not without taking my eyes off the road.

Now the screens are okay because they are official?? You guys are a joke.  They are disappointing. Not what was promised,  3d grass, HDR, better than PGR3.  If they didnt have that stuff in the latest build.  They should have never released these screenshots.  Plus all the CG videos they have been showing.  Good job forza team...Angry [:@]

What is with everyone's obsession with the 3D grass? Yes, I know Turn 10 said it would be in the game, but really, how does that impact my driving? Will I even notice it when I'm speeding along? Will you?

Besides, No one promised that those effects would be in the screens. They supplied what they could with what they had! Would you rather have no screenshots? I personally think these look really good for a build snapshot.

Re: First Look: Forza Motorsport 2 on Xbox 360

the higher of the first person views in forza was like if you put a camera on the top part of the very front of the car i think.

it kinda sucked because it was different for each car and cars like corvettes with a low front made the camera really low too so you couldn't see over some hill/dips in the road.

Re: First Look: Forza Motorsport 2 on Xbox 360

We want 3D grass.  Does 3D grass have ANYTHING to do with the driving experience?  Hell no it doesn't, but a game that already plays amazingly, but also looks jaw dropping adds to the overall fun factor, value of the game.  It makes it more immersive.  Who cares if I'll never be able to stop to and appreciate the grass?  As long as its there man.  You guys are telling me you would settle for those flat textures as grass?  This is the 360 if we can't expect that stuff why did we buy it ?  The 360 gpu has amazing vertex shader capabilities beyond any current gpu available it can sure as hell handle some impressive 3D animated grass we don't need to settle for less.

A game can be as realistic as it likes, but unless it looks great too it wont sell as well as it deserves to.  We'd all be lying to ourselves if we didn't admit that graphics whether it be small touches like 3D grass, dirt effects, HDR and numerous other things didn't help the overall immersiveness of a game.  People actually have more fun playing a game that looks amazing and plays amazingly as well (people may not admit it, but amazing graphics makes amazing games more fun and you all know it).  We aren't out of line to want nor are we too demanding to expect this a 360 game (which many consider the best racing sim ever) to look incredible.  Nobody wants to hear the "its all about gameplay" stuff nothing against anyone who believes that, but just amazing gameplay wont cut it it has to look great too.

I mean is this console not powerful enough where we need to settle for one or the other?  Amazing graphics, but crappy gameplay.  Amazing gameplay, but underwhelming visuals.  We can have both.  As I said the cars are looking good (and probably still aren't final), but with everything else that was promised for the game I say it could look better than all the cg trailers we've been getting so far (especially the damage one)

Work in progress man...  I agree with someone else when they say that the cars look good..  I still can't get over that Carbon Fiber trunk..  It's not just a texture on there, as carbon fiber is the webbing/fiber part, then loads of clear coat on top of that.. You can really see how it reacts to light and different angles in the rear trunk view..

Don't mind the shitty comments, it seems some just don't understand how this will look when its moving with 60fps :D and this isn't even final!

I agree. We are right to demand top of the line gameplay and visuals because we are the consumer and we have invested a large amount of money in a product -Xbox 360- That has promised next generation performance. However I think everyone is jumping the gun with the nasty comments to Turn 10. If the game has been delayed obviously it is not ready so don't expect a finished product. You don't pull a cake out of the oven before it is done cooking and expect it to look pretty, you have to let it cool before you put the icing on it. Corny analogy but all I am saying is give Turn 10 some time.

The game is no longer Holiday 2006 -- but we won't announce a new date until X06.

Gotta do what you gotta do to get things right, y'know?

This is making me seriously sad :(

But you're ultimately right, che...releasing a half finished game would be really bad instead of just dissapointing like a delayed release.

The screenshots didn't really impress me that much either (sorry), but then Forza never was about cutting edge visuals rather the best driving/racing on a video game platform. The car models are nice, but I was expecting a little more, to be honest. The landscapes look amazing though. Can't wait to see in-game video.

Clearly you haven't seen the strides made in cake preparation in the past couple years ;)

Seriously though hopefully my comments aren't being perceived as nasty or disrespectful to the developers (because that isn't my intention) I'm aware the game is far from done, but I was just having a discussion with some of the other forum goers that after seeing these screens seem to have lowered their expectations for the game bigtime with comments such as "oh well it'll play incredibly" "graphics aren't everything" "we don't need all those graphical bells and whistles anyway?  Who needs hdr, GI or 3D grass much less dirt effects?"  They are assuming now that what they thought was possible with this game graphically is suddenly not as achievable as they originally thought and so they've scaled back expectations.  Who knows if it'll happen with forza 2 or forza 3 when it eventually comes out, but people will be shocked by the type of graphics that are possible.

Time?  Give them time???  They have exactly 2 minutes to give me some new screenshots.  JUST KIDDING don't ban me :)
