Re: FORZA 2 British GT Championship Official Thread.

Will all participants please ensure you have me added to your friends list. We will try to meet before 8 so that we can make sure all cars have the appropriate number tags and the racing can then start. Hopefully there will be a photoshoot at some stage and obviously we will do a race report which will be posted here and on our forums.

I ask that ALL drivers expecting to race either pm here to confirm entry OR better would be to post an IN on the relevant race entry thread on the BGT forums. Closing time will be 7pm GMT for this race. Entries will still be allowed throughout the season on a race by race basis. So don't worry if you miss the first event you can still take part!!

See you all in a couple of hours!

Re: FORZA 2 British GT Championship Official Thread.

Silverstone after race interview with Janson09

Chucky 1982: Being the founder of Forza 2 British GT Championship how did you feel the first event went?

Janson09: Iwas really impressed. Although we didn't have the numbers I think in terms of spectacle we had a great race. Thre were offs, mis-timed pit stops, but more importantly the racing was pretty close. Generall the outright pace of the cars was really close. And given the little comparison we have had thats outstanding.

Chucky 1982: Would you inpose any rule changes after the first event?

Janson09: Given the numbers at the moment I think the shorter sprit race will remain until the entrants increase. On the whole I'm pretty happy with the results so far, the regs have given us two close races and some fun cars to play with! I think the general consensus from the other competitors was that is worked well and I think we all had fun.

Chucky 1982: Being a racer in the first event how do you feel it went?

Janson09: I was a tad disappointed with the first race, the nerves got to me abit and I just made enough of a mistake to allow the two following cars through. After leading from the start that was disappointing but its racing.
The second race was nerve racking! Going down the pit straight and knowing PR3DATOR was so close to exiting the pits was scary. Having him reel me in and make a risky but amazing pass at Becketts got the adrenaline going! I've not been so excited about a race for ages. But for the team a 3rd and 2nd is a fantastic start to the season.

Chucky 1982: How did your car feel?? Will you be changing any of your set ups for Mugello this sunday(2nd March)?

Janson09: THere were some issues with understeer that came about late in the second race. W've not had that before, so both myself and Steph will be testing long runs in the car to address that issue. Other than that the car felt predictable and didn't spring too many suprises! That won't stop us going out for the win at Mugello on Sunday.

Chucky 1982: What are your views of mtr pr3dator's driving skills during the battle you two was having near the end of the race?

Janson09: Firm but fair! I have experience of racing with PR3D before and he does try the odd fun move but we've never tangled. The whole race was close and towards the end I think he had a couple of chances he could've taken me off but he didn't so I happy with that. I remember missing a gear out of Luffield and saw his bonnet rigt on my bootlid but he didn't tag me and we both carried on. The pass into Becketts was outstanding, a gutsy move I didn't think he'd pull off but somehow he got the 'Vette stopped. He's a classy driver...just too quick!!

Chucky 1982: Also your views on TVR_Fan's proformance with the battle you had with him early on in the race??

Janson09: Never raced with him til now but he too is a quality driver. We raced close and had a wee bit of rubbing but it was all fair and alot of fun! On the whole the driving quality has been very professional and racing quality benefits from that for the drivers and spectators alike.
Its a shame we didn't see more frm Chucky 1982 but I can understand if you're new to a series it can take time to get up to speed. I hopeto see him up there soon. He has a good car so I'm sure he can do it.

Chucky 1982: Hopefully one day I will get up there with you lot but maybe better to stay off the road for a while. How do you think the next race in Mugello will go??

Janson09: Haven't done very much testing there but I like that track. Lots of altitude change and that mega long straight which should suite my car. Just got to get the thing handling in the corners now!

Chucky 1982: With mtr pr3dator only being in 3 races are you yourself kind of thankfull after seeing his great proformance of winning the main race with doing 2 pit stops with the second one of him making a big mistake and hitting the entrance wall to the pit stop?

Janson09: Yes and no. The end of the race was still really close and if he hadn't had the accident we would have been exiting Copse together. I would say his Corvette had about a second on my Shelby but thats probably down to testing expertise and tting up his car better than mine. I think we can have a great season and I hope he can stick around especially as he leads the series. Not to see it through tothe end would be a shame.

Chucky 1982: Thank you for your time Janson09 and good luck at Mugello

Re: FORZA 2 British GT Championship Official Thread.

Silverstone after race interview with TVR_Fan

Chucky 1982: First off for you how did you feel the race went in general?

TVR_Fan: The Silverstone racing was my first time back in racing since my last race, which I had 4 months ago in the same Sagaris in the AVF FM2 Car Club Mini GT Season.

Which I won, and after winning that race, I clinched the AVF FM2 Car Club Mini GT Season. However, the past series my Sagaris raced in had a higher spec machine.

Here are my final thoughts to your question:

The race meeting was fun, but I must say it went ok for me, even if the racing did not go well for me at times, which did not help me test the top two drivers as much as I would have wanted. However, like the old saying goes, you win some and you lose some.

Chucky 1982: Is your car up to the standard you wanted and will you be changing your set up for the next race this sunday(2nd march) at mugello?

TVR_Fan: I reckon the next race will be better for me, even if some of the other cars have more power then me. However, even with the other driver’s cars doing great for them, I reckon my car feels great as well, and I will be looking to get more out of my car hopefully.

Chucky 1982: What are your thoughts on the other drivers first off mtr pr3dator, you had a little battle with him half way in the race for 2nd how did you fell that went?

TVR_Fan: I would not say I had a bit of a battle, because he kept it cool and made me work harder compared to himself. In addition to him playing it cooler, I must point out I did mess up times when he was catching up after pitting.

However even with the first meeting out of the way, I must say mtr pr3dator is a great driver and I look forward to racing against him more in the near future.

Chucky 1982: Also with Janson09 you had a long battle with him early in the race over 1st place did you feel you drove as good as you could of?

TVR_Fan: Having close battles with him at times, one being a couple of inches apart from him, however I feel I could have driven better if I did not mess up at times. Nevertheless, in the next meeting, I will be trying to put those mistakes behind me.

Chucky 1982: How do you feel that the next race at mugello will go for you?

TVR_Fan: After looking at my lap times, I feel I can do better in the next race. Even with Mugello being an Italian track and not being closer to my home in Hampshire compared to Silverstone International.

Re: FORZA 2 British GT Championship Official Thread.

    Silverstone International Race 1

The grid formed up almost a replica of the pre-season form guide with PR3DATOR in pole position closely follwed by the new Shelby of jenson09, the Sagaris of TVR Fan and Chucky 1982 bringing up the rear of the small initial field for the inaugural British GT race.

As the lights went out jenson09 seemed to get the better start and entering Copse the THR driver had edged PR3DATOR in his Corvette into a close second place. TVR Fan and Chucky followed closely behind.

By the time the cars reached Abbey for the first time there were two distinct groups. But on cold tyres jenson09 ran his Shelby deep into the hairpin, nearly losing his tenuous lead to the flying Corvette behind. The THR driver had expressed his concerns at the extreme pace of PR3DATOR's car following qualifying, noting that it seemed to be around a second faster than most of the other cars but put it down simply to better preparation.

The positions remained unchanged for the majority of the race. On lap three there was a major scare for the leading pair who had gapped the following Sagaris and Mustang. Once again at the Abbey hairpin jenson09 braked slightly late, unsettling his car enogh to spear off into the gravel. Keeping his foot planted jenson09 slowly recovered his car, ruing the mistake.

PR3DATOR took instant advantage of this error and went for the lead but distracted by the Shelby's excursion he too, spun mid-corner pitching the Corvette around ditching his rear wheels in a gravel trap on the exit. Meanwhile TVR Fan had caught the lead pair and attempted a pass but unsighted was nearly collected by the recovering jenson09. The two cars missing a serious broadside collision by mere inches. PR3DATOR by now had crawled back onto the track and was repassed by jenson09 with TVR Fan now chewing his rear bumper.

The Corvette's handling through Bridge and the complex of Brooklands and Luffield was, however, enough to gap the Sagaris and close the gap back to the leader. Indeed exiting Woddcote and back onto the Pit Straight, the Corvette and Shelby were side by side, only the greater grunt of the GT500 being enough to keep jenson09 ahead.

However, if you thought this race was sown up lap four would change that. Over the radio jenson09 had been expressing concern that the car was beginning to understeer terribly on braking. Sure enough on braking into the fast Maggots section jenson's car ploughed onwards and off the track.

He narrowly missed losing the car in a gravel trap and made for the escape road. Meanwhile PR3DATOR had now taken the lead with TVR Fan assuming the chase in second. (This despite PR3DATOR launching his car over the kerbing at Ireland.)

Taking to Abbey for the final time, PR3DATOR led the field home, TVR Fan bringing his Sagaris home in an excellent second place and the frustrated jenson09 in third.

Chucky 1982 had had a quiet race, learning the car and the circuit and perhaps benefitting from not getting involved in the fracas up ahead. A solid weekends performance from the rookie driver.

There were, on the whole, alot of positives to draw from this first race meeting. The cars seemed well matched and the drivers raced fairly. The drivers were simply buzzing after race one and all eyes looked to how the endurance race two would turn out, despite the diminutive field.

Race two report to follow (and it was a goodun!!)
