Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

I just received my DriveFx wheel and I'm very happy with it.  The quality of the build is solid and the FF is surprising realistic.  The most difficult thing to get used to when switching over from a controller to a wheel setup is the foot control needed to brake and accelerate smoothly.  However, after a few hours on the wheel, I noticed that my driving line is much more smooth with the wheel.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

Logitech needs to pull it's finger out and make its top-of-the-line Driving Force Pro work across all platforms. It already works on PS2 and PC, but not PS3 or 360.

I'm not forking out more money for a wheel when i have a $300AUS USB wheel sitting in the cupboard doing nothing most of the time.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

For those using the DriveFX, do you mod the brake pedal to make it stiffer? I've been using half of a squash ball as suggested by many. However, it tends to slip out every now and then. Any of you have a better solution?

sweetles. just got logitech, should be here fri. Force feedback, 2 year warranty and brand new for only £24.18.
I can put up with the wire :D

    It is NOT force feedback.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

You shouldn't need to mod the brake pedal like the MS wheel.  The logitech pedals are a lot stiffer right out of the box.

As Foocker wrote it's not true force feedback, BUT it feels almost exactly like force feedback.  There are motors in the wheel that give force feedback type feel to the wheel.  It's NOT just a constant resistance to steering.  It is a better all around wheel than the MS wheel.  I just returned my MS wheel last week and got the logitech today.  I've already improved every single lap time with the logitech wheel over the MS wheel.  My only complaint is the USB cable is too short for my setup.  I'm playing on a projector so I have to sit far back and the cable makes that difficult.

damn, you should tell that to my wheel, cause I think it doesn't understand that statement since he puts force against my movement and center itself when I plug it in...

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

DriveFX owners: Do you have centering issues when the sensitivity is set to Level 2 (1 being least sensitive, 4 being most sensitive)? Mine centers perfectly when set to L1 but it leans to the right when set to L2 (meaning the neutral position is slightly left). Is this a common problem with the DriveFX or is it just mine that's faulty? It's not a big problem since I always use L1 but am thinking if I should need to use L2, I would want the wheel to center nicely.

DriveFX Owners: Do you get feedback on  the wired headset when playing online with the DriveFX? I always get complains from people saying my headset is feedbacking.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

went to the shops recently and noticed the Microsoft Wheel discoutned heavily to AUS $94, however they had none in stock. As a result i am now considering the Logitech Drive FX Wheel, which seems to be probably more suited to a casual racer such as myself.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

Same here and a lot of my fellow UKOG`ers have the same issue regarding the open coms online, we have come to a conclusion as to what is causing this and we think its because the headset plugs into the top of the base unit just behind the wheel therefore sitting nicely on top of the motors which we think is the problem somewhere along them lines, maybee they can bring out a patch or something for logitech users.

P.S To the guy who stated that the Logitech Driving Force pro dont work on PS3`s, well I think In England my friend it does work as I had a PS3 the day it came out as we all moved over from Toca 3 on PS2 with the Pro wheel and onto the F1 game and lord behold it worked. No force feedback in the game for a while but apparantly it had an update with that in, I since took the PS3 back to woolies and got the 360 for half the price and spent the other half on accessories and games.

The Logitech wheel is deffo the best all round as most of the 70 something UKOG`ers have had both and they felt the same, back to the shop with the Wire "one" Less wheel.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

Wow - very impressed with all the info on wheels (recently found this forum via Google).

I have a Logitech Gran Turismo wheel on my PS2 and I've always been delighted with it. Given the variable opinions I've found re. the MS wheel (which admittedly does sound good), I've decdied to order a Drive FX.

I'll post my experiences in due course, in case there's other new 360 owners facing the same decision.

PS (o/t) - first impressions of Forza 2 - superb. Stopped playing it as want to wait for the wheel! Especially like the way crashes and bumps are penalised. I'm not fussed with visible damage, but having penalties makes the racing so much more edgy. It's the main thing I found missing on the PS1/2 GT games, which I am also a fan of.

Re: Logitech Drive FX wheel vs. Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel

Hi Tg, really lookin forward to your new wheel experience, and not just the wheel experience, its a Logitech one so hold on m8.  Personally ive never used the Wire " One " Less wheel but have had lots of people move from Logitech DFP on Ps2 to xbox360 for Forza, they were in the same shoes as you but coz they came from the DFP ( Driving Force Pro ) wheel they really liked the idea of staying with Logitech, although some stil got puirsuaded to get the microsoft one. None of them believed there was a Logitech Force Feedback for the 360, I then posted a pic up of me holding the box. All of them people who got the wireless one very quickly took it back and then ordered the Logitech, they are now very happy.

The wireless one does look gorgeos mind id still rather quality over beauty all day long.

Yes I had that before Christmas when I played Forza on my old CRT TV, @ Christmas Santa (MrsJonboy LOL) got me a shiny new HD LCD TV specifically to play Forza on and I no longer get feedback, so my guess is that it was the TV causing Feedback not the Wheel as I thought before.

I was one of those people and I'm still happy with my DFX, 9 months later when most M$ wheel owners that I know have had their wheels crap out on them.

I am very glad I got my money back and returned that rip of,  Microsoft wheel and spent half the money on a better product.
