I paint more than I play the game as well thats why I dont have much credits. Ill be auctioning a couple cars off with my paint in the next couple of days so hopefully that gives me about 400k or 500k

PAINTING TUTORIALS THREAD

Nice job!  How long did that take?

i did it over a span of 3 days, the face took about 300 layers and around 5 hours (although i constantly had to tweak it because her face was the most important)

The body took about 150 layers and maybe 3 hours.

And the hair and touchups were another 100 layers and took about 4 hours

So altogether, it took 12 hours and i think it came in at 569 layers

I will definitley be bidding on this. I only have about 310k so hopefully I have somewhat of a chance on this. That is an insane paint job. Very clean looking.

This is why i love the Auction house...you cant select the AMOUNT you can bid, so even guys with 100 Million credits will have to slowly creep their way up, just like everyone else.

 

and that is why I HATE the auction house...an auction will run 2 hours longer then it should just because there is someone who is willing spend 3 mil on a car. Some guy is stuck there with only 500K thiking he still has a chance when he id just wasting his time.

True, which is why i always include a buyout price for my auctions, in case some eager beaver with cash doesnt feel like waiting. Saves alot of time too.

But this car is special, so its gonna play out as long as it has to.

12 hours eh?  Time well spent.  You must be pretty efficient.  I've been working on the main character from Chrono Trigger and it's taken around that long so far and it's not even done yet unfortunately.  It's by the guy who does the dragonball characters whom it appears you're familiar with.  Where can i see other cars you've done?  Do you have a gallery?

I'm curious if you, like me find outlining and cellshading in the livery editor way more challenging than a more photo-real image.

Outlining, yes. Cell shading no. Outlining sucks.

I had a gallery with my photobucket account, but i used all the bandwidth when i posted the GFX tutorial, so when i get a chance, ill transfer them to a new photobucket account and post a link

But 1 of 1 , .... Id like to see a LTE 3 or LTE 5 , numbered off : Just pointg one pic of it with all theat time seems kinda meh. Plus if its thanks back to the community , why only release one .... Just a few thoughts or own opinions

None the less , I do hope it is taking into consideration. Ive seen some awsome work by ppl where they "helped" out the lesser bank rolls have a option of achieving a paint job of that stature

I wasnt the richest by i was prolly the most nicest and worked around them and there schedule for them to help me out achieve a paint job

Like I said though , think about . It may go to the high bidder but think about the lower bidders as well that cant afford to go to even 1,000,000 cr

Dont say that, you think i just magically got that good overnight? Like anything else, it takes practice. And i might make another tutorial showing people how to shade.

Well, im "giving back" the same way Turn10 does with their Unicorn cars, by keeping it limited, then whoever gets it will feel it is special, and i made the bid cheap because anyone can make a bid for it.

I cant control what happens in the auction house, but if it DOES end up getting bid way high in the millions, i might consider sneaking another one in the future for 5k with a 10k buyout, just post it randomly one day, with no announcement, and whoever buys it, gets it.

But thats only if the bid on this gets into the millions, which i dont think it will. Yeah i know its worth that much, but starting at 5k and slowly creeping up, i doubt it will get over 500k. But well see. If it cracks 1Million, ill probably release a random one in the future for cheap.
