omg i'd prefer F1 because it takes alot more skills and cornering than doing a 4 left turned circle in the indy 500 hundred. Places like Monza while it is raining is way more thrilling than circles. It would be orgasmic if F1 cars was in Forza 2. Maybe that should be a new download package, is it?

    1.  IndyCar drivers race on road/street courses too.  8 out of 18 races scheduled for the 2009 IndyCar Series are road/street races.  No other major racing series in the world challenges its drivers with such a balanced mix of oval/road/street racing.

    2.  IndyCar drivers also race in the rain on road and street courses.

    3.  Oval racing isn't easier than road racing.  I don't see anything easy about racing at 230 MPH on a superspeedway wheel-to-wheel with 32 other drivers.  The slightest mistake on an oval usually results in you crashing into another car and/or the wall.

IndyCar Series. One series. All the stars.

Im a fan of racing period,if it has a motor ill watch it. But if you want to compare cars then you have to consider what track you want to pit them against each other on. Say you wanna go to Suzuka, well F1 will wipe the floor with IRL,but say you wanna run the road course at Indy, an Indy car will leave F1 in the dust, and before you say BS an F1 car might...MIGHT... top out around 215 while an Indy car can run upwards of 240 MPH,remember the races at Texas when the drivers were almost passing out because of the G's they were pulling (on an oval). You also have to compare the distance raced by each series, eventhough F1 might have more tech. to them the engines just cant last more than two races, and I dont think any of them could last through a five hundred mile race in one go. I also noticed that someone posted about how much F1 drivers are paid, well thats actually not true, most F1 drivers are not paid like drivers from other series, most teams require you to bring X amount of millions to drive thier car for THEM ! But this debate will always occur as long as the two series are around and everyone will have a favorite between the two.
The voices in my head arent real...but they have some great ideas!

That is utter garbage. Ever see the road course at Indy? It has a long sweeping right hander and 1 long straight. Other than that, the rest of the course is tight & twisty. F1 cars are smaller/lighter and will dominate on the infield. The long straight? Heh...sounds like you've never seen an F1 car accelerate. Sure an Indy car may reach 240mph...but how long does it take to get there? F1 can turn quicker, maintain more speed through the corners, accelerate quicker, and brake quicker.

You forget to mention engine speeds. Where in Indy, the engine pretty much stays at 1 RPM range the whole race (ovals) - however F1 cars bounce between 12k-19k and can shift/engine brake several thousand times a race. That's the difference. FWIW; F1 races are usually in the neiborhood of 190 miles. Figure in 2 races and qualifying and you get somewhere in the neiborhood of 400+/- miles per engine.

Simply not true. Ferrari, McLaren, BMW-Sauber, Renault, Red Bull, Williams, Toyota, and Honda do not have pay drivers. I don't know where you get your information but what you posted in clearly false.

All I can say about the subject is that I would like to see Indy cars in Forza MotorSports.  Just because they are there doesn't mean you have to race them.  I would like to take the wheel of an Indy car down some of the road coarses.  Always wanted to drive one.

F1, it is simply the Ultimate Motorsport.

Re: F1 vs. IndyCar Racing - Which do you prefer?

    I'd say F1 because I'm not American.

The Indycars get zero coverage in Europe. I may have been more interested had the management decided to continue the European rounds like those in Germany, and at Rockingham and Brands Hatch in the UK, but they didn't, so I don't.

    Have Fun!
