Real world fwd is easier to get out of any dodgy situations for your average driver(me included), but on a track the front tyres just can't cope doing everything all at once.
on the torque steer front, I think it's more a manufacturer issue than a generic fwd issue, early Vauxhall Astra GTE's and the Ford Focus RS suffer badly where as my Mini Cooper s doesn't show any signs of torque steer, even under full accleration.
awd is the only way to go really quickly on slippy surfaces, think WRC, but for tarmac rwd is king - you've just got to look at the
Nurburgring lap times for proof.
for forza I use bhp & downforce to make up for my lack of talent and finesse with the throttle/brakes
