    Mixb:

To spot the lamination error, just hold the disk up to a light source, and examine the disk. You will notice a miscoloration on part of the DVD. If you do notice it, please post it here because I don't have enough money to go through disk after disk.

Mixb, is it that the surface of the disk is slightly uneven, which is causing it to skip/make those clicking sounds?

    1. Where are you from?
    Brooklyn, NY

2.a. How long have you had your 360?
    March 06

2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model?

    MFR: 2006-02-21

    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze.

Started with music cutting out while loading tracks then graphics dissappearing... then had the ddisc drive would suddenly stop loading tracks. After that is when the full on freezing started to take place either before a race as track was loading or after completing a race which almost had me tossing the game out the window(nothing like doing a long race series and having to do it over because the game freezes)This went on for a few weeks till finally I got the 3 lights this week. Very Disappointed as this was the only game I was playing. Sometime the game would freeze as soon as it booted up, so it was a cold system start. I would have 3-4 freezes a session(1-2 hours)

    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?

I think I might have had problems with splinter cell or Call of duty... But don't remember. The system for the most part worked flawlessly. I was considering myself lucky that I didn't have the red lights. The forza Demo worked fine.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

This is silly.  Forza is software it cannot break your xbox. as stated by MS xbox360s have issues.  Ive played GOW, forza 2, the darkness all top notch games that probably push the 360's hardware to the limit.  What is probably happening is that forza 2 is pushing the 360s hardware and causing more failures.  Its a hardware issue not software regardless of this topic.  Your trying to prove a point that has already been proven, which is Xbox360s have issues in more than 1% which is why ms extended the warranty.  They are not going to do anything special for you just because you have 200+ out of hundreds of thousands of 360's with complaints.  Hey id be pissed to but your not gonna get special treatment.  It is what it is. if your out of warranty then you gotta pay or *** till you get what you want. Or say your gonna pay 500bucks for a ps3 that has all crap games.

    good luck.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1. Where are you from? Perth, Western Australia.
    2. How long have you had your 360 before it died? approx. 8 months.
    3. Short summary or paragraph of just before you got the 3 red lights. Was playing R6: Vegas online with a couple of mates and it froze at the loading screen when starting a new round (the one where u see the little men in the top right corner running).  turned it off and when I turned it back on the dreaded 3 red rings were there.

    4. Any previous problems with other titles? Get the odd freezing happening in R6 and Forza2, usually in online games only though.

    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Have rung the 1800 number, I need to make sure the power supply light is green when I get home tonight and then ring them back.  I bet it is.
    6. Paid for repair? Hell no, I will throw the whole console in the bin before I have to pay for it to be fixed, I wont even be paying for postage to send it to them.

To me that says it ISNT  a Forza2 problem causing this.  I was playing Forza2 5 minutes before my mates got online and sent me an invite for R6:Vegas, it died in Vegas tho NOT  Forza2.

I reckon there is a just a problem with the hardware that the morons at Micro$oft didnt detect during QA, pretty pissweak effort I must say for a company with so much resources at thier disposal (and so much money).  Now I'll be sitting around for 3 weeks+ waiting to get it back.

It sux because the console itself and the games are so damn good and I just bought a 50" plasma tv that I was playing it on......the next 3 weeks is going to drag on for ages  :(

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

    1. Where are you from?

    Montreal Canada

2.a. How long have you had your 360?

I'm on my 4th Xbox 360 console.  The last one, I got from EB Games with my extended warranty, 2 weeks before the recent red light.

2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model? (ex. Core, Premium, Elite)

Model is the one with the hard drive.

    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze.

I was in the Forza menu and it froze.  Rebooted the console, and got a screen with error 74 on it asking to call Microsoft, and one Lower-right red light.  The Xbox site says that this light also indicates a general hardware failure.

    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza?

With this last console, Forza 2 is the only game I was playing.

    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?

I sent it 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for it.  I was told I did not have to pay.

2.a. How long have you had your 360? Six Months
2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model? (ex. Core, Premium, Elite) Premium
    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze. My 360 had always been one to randomly freeze, but this time I'd been playing Forza for hours, which my 360 hadn't done before. Froze, restarted, worked. An hour later, froze, then couldn't read disc.
    4. Has your 360 had issues with Forza demo, or problems on other games besides Forza? Froze on Rainbow Six Vegas and Madden 07 a few times.
    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay? Sent it, 5 weeks later i got a new 360 from Microsoft, free of charge.

    5. Have you sent it in for repair? Did you have to pay?

2.b. Do you know the Manufacture Date and/or Model? (ex. Core, Premium, Elite) - Premium - Bought December 2006.
    3. Short summary or paragraph of problems just before your 360 got 3 red lights or froze. Playing a career race three red lights. Machine broken.

New machine gave 3 red lights during online play in first 10mins when I first put the game on it. However, it has been fine since (7 days). I do get races that freeze for a fraction of a send at the start. Almost like the race has started but the data hasn't finished loading.

That's a great idea.  But when I bought my 360, I also bought a couple games, and extra controller, and some other stuff.  This pushed my total above $650.  Now I should add another $60-$80 just in case something I spent this much money on break within two years?  BS.  Should I have put one of my games back?

I am an adult who treats my gaming gear with care and much respect.  When I traded my PSP in, the store manager actually called all the employees over to see how pristine I kept that piece of crap.

My XBOX 360 was treated the same way.

Sure, your idea sounds great.  But here is one I like better......don't put out machines that aren't capable of running that systems more high end games without breaking down.  When I buy something, I don't feel like I should have to pay more money to make life easier if the thing breaks down.

My PS2 ran forever, and when it did die, it was my fault.  Accidents happen.

My origianl PS is still running.

Re: Fill this Form out if your 360 froze or died after playing Forza 2

Hopefully for everyone that sends in their 360 now with 3 rings, Microsoft ends up putting in these "new components" that help it run more stable. I understand that the system is more complex, but if it's on the store shelves... and it costs hundreds of dollars... it should work.
