My girlfriend really liked Pansy's design and bigbluesd, she really liked the shiny effects from Hot Wheels DSG logo as well.

Currently the heads of the engine are being align-bored at the machine shop, but should be done by the end of this week. Once done, we'll put the heads on the engine and start the final assembly. Then we'll tune it, and hopefully bring it to the track by mid to late august for a shakedown. I'll be posting plenty of more photos as it progresses.

Recently I've been really busy fixing up my new (to me) motorcycle. Its a 1987 Honda Hurricane CBR 600. I'm sure it might be older than some of you!

lol. Looks like a super sized pocket bike cause it doesn't have all the vents and bodywork like newer bikes.

What are you fixing on her? Should be a hot ride when it's all done.

Sorry for my bad English...

Its a 4-stroke 4cyl at 600cc. She goes real fast and keeps up with the modern 600's until around 10k rpm where she starts to fall behind. The newer bikes have much more top end.

Im just doing a little basic restoration work, since its the first model year of the Honda CBR, i thought i'd make it into a little retro restore project. Get it cleaned up and running really good.

This past weekend a few friends and I took a trip out to Cape Cod, got caught in a thunderstorm, but it was still a blast.

Hope you have fun on it budd, kinda reminds me of my first bike, a VFR400 NC24. Similar colour scheme and panels on it except mine had some blue and less white. I'm quite surprised it looks very clean and tidy, how much did you pay for her?

Basically i took my ranking score, multiplied by the poll results, then took the opinion of 3 friends (Jay, Quy and Shep), multiplied by a friend influence factor of 800, added the result and that produced the final score.

August 27th 2008 Alex is nearly done assembling the engine, we're just waiting for a spec-c valve cover gasket at this point before the engine goes in. Now for more photos of the assembled engine. I worked on the bike a bit today, tightened the chain, etc. September 13th and 14th is the Redline Time Attack which we may attend. That will be more of a "test the waters" day than real competition. The goal is to have the first test and tune day on track at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 25th, with the real first competition on October 3rd and 4th at the VIR GT Live.

I wanted to update you guys with the big progress we've made with the car:


Engine is done and ready to be installed






Engine was installed wednesday.

The blow-off valve arrived today and we're waiting for the SARD fuel pressure regulator. We gotta button up a few little things and she'll be ready to hit the dyno!

I've never seen a boxer out of the bay like that, really gets across how unusual the thing is. Thanks for keeping us updated, any estimates / aims for the output on the dyno?

I really try to keep away from making power estimates, because envinronmental conditions (temperature, humidity), engine build differences, differences in gas quality can have significant effects on final horse power estimates. On the DSG dyno, cars with the EJ257 (2.5 liter) engine and the GT3076r turbo have produced between 350-450 horsepower. This engine differs quite a bit with respect to its 2.2 liter displacement and the Tomei stroker kit.

If it does 300-350hp, something is wrong.
If it does 350hp, i'll be satisfied.
If it ends up with 400hp, I'll be happy.
If it does 450hp, i'll be joyous.
If it manages 500hp, i'll be scared.

We shall see.

Since i was itching to get onto the racetrack, i ended up buying a bike (see earlier page).

I went to a track day in New Hampshire with a few friends last weekend. Long story short, i had a blast despite putting the bike into a wall at the end of the day and earning myself a big nasty black and blue "badge of honour" on my hip and motorcycle leathers.
