Turn 10
As a devoted Forza 2 player and championship organiser I applaud your efforts to keep the game fresh and interesting to the player base.
It seems apparent that there is a certain leaning towards GT machinery, either through official replicas of GT cars such as the LMP Audis and Peugeots, Maserarti MC12 and so on, or through the availability of cars in GT series that can be modded and used as replicas, such as the Aston Martin DB9, Jag XK and various Porsches. However, there are still a great deal of cars missing from a extensive GT line up. The Aston DBR9 (or even the DBS9), KTM X Bow, Gillet Vertigo, Vauxhall VXR8 to name a few.
Additionally, you may have noticed the wide range of British fans who were VERY peased wit the introduction of the Civic Typre R 07 and the new SEAT Leon because it meant they were able to create liveries based on the BTCC (Our most prestigious national saloon series.) While a great deal ha been done to accommodate a wide and varied range of taste it seems some obvious vehicles are left out. In the case of the BTCC, the obvious glaring omission is the BMW 320si. This car now makes up a significant portion of the grid and without it many touring car fans are left ithout a major option (I speak of the SERIOUS fans for whom attention to detail and realism is everthing). Also the Vauxhall Vectra (I'd say the VXR spec would be best) would be a nice addiion to those creating BTCC reps who are currently struggling with VXRacing replicas post 2006!
Additionally, the lack of a Nissan GTR at this stage is disappointing to say the least, especially when it is available on other games. Now I know i seems like a moan but at this stage I am realistically requesting but 4 cars. Not much to ask, though I fully comprehend the hard work that goes into even one replica car. With Race Driver GRiD heading our way I am worried that a portion of the gaming community for whom GT racing is a big part, could move away if certain cars don't become available. As a GT championship organiser it worries me that the series could suffer through lack of available machinery. Or to be fair, lack of newer machinery coming up. There are alot of people in my series that talk about how good it would be to have a wider range of Astons and other cars suitable to the GT3 catagory available to us. If just to make the series even more interesting.
As for tracks, well I not going to attack your efforts. Each track you have produced is a stunner and it is a privelige to race on them. The only minor issue wold be that they are very US oriented which is understanable due to your US base but haveyou not considered the amaing non-F1 tracks out there that exist? Tracks that offer a challenge to the driver and a unique atmosphere.
For example:
- Thruxton UK
- Adria: Italy
- Misano: Italy
- Surfers Paradise: Australia
- Rockingham Speedway: UK
- Losail: Dubai
- Eastern Creek: Australia
- Donington Park: UK
- Circuit de la Sarthe: France
- Paul Ricard: France (The ultimate test track!)
- Lausitzring: Germany
- Spa Francorchamps: Belgium
- Fuji Speedway: Japan
The game currently has sufficient number of US based tracks, I think it would be nice to see a couple more European based circuits to appeal to that player base, which must be significant enough to warrant such a move.
I've ried to lay this ot abit more 'grown up' than simply a "I want x car in the game!" I hope its enough for at least someone from T10 to read :)
Thanks for reading anyway.
