Alright due to the increased number of cases, I have created a sticky regarding this.

Please post up the exact circumstances leading up to you receiving this message.  Be as specific as possible so that I can use that information for research purposes.

I cannot guarantee a fix, however I will do my best to investigate.

Is there any way around the error message that says "your profile has been tampered with, you must delete your game save and start over"

I only get that message when I try to gift cars or recieve gifted cars or visit the AH  I can still race, paint cars and such, just NO gifting or AH for me right now.  I really don't want to delete the game and start over.  I am a level 50 and have way to many one off cars that I dont want to lose.  I have tried deleting my most recent cars that I have either been gifted or got from the AH, and I am still getting the same message.

If I have to start over, I may just give up on the game completely and get my racing sim fix by playing Gran Turismo 2 on my PSP.

So, basically I got screwed b/c some a**holes wanted to cheat/glitch there way through the game by selling duped cars?

Its not becuase you own duped cars.  If you use your memory card to have your game, that is the reason.  You can do everything with that corrupt file except for going to the AH and Gifting.  You can race career, online, paint, and everything else.  You dont have to delete it.

Never used any device to save my game except for the hard drive.  I like going to the auction house and gifting cars to people, so I will more than likely bite the bullet on this one and start over.  It will just take a while to get some cash going again. 

Why not just do the hard drive maintenance, and then when you boot forza it will ask you to update. 

Just enter your garage and sell the cars off that are duped.  I think you know which ones they could be.

You can save the designs of unlocked cars, but just sell off everything you are not sure is duped or not. 

It will take a little while, but you can view the info pane on a car and see who the original owner is, if it is you, it should be fine.

then just sign into Xbox LIVE, and it will update.  since it won't see any of those cars in your garage, it should not give you that message.

I had duped cars in my garage and that didnt corrupt it.

Ive heard you cant roll back the update.  Maybe, maybe not.

Yeah my garage was full so I didnt care if it corrupted my file.  So I played around till it did.  And I can tell you, duped cars wasnt the reason for it.  My garage worked fine with duped cars until I started messing around that led it to get corrupted.

I got rid of all non locked and locked cars that I got from the AH.  I even got rid of all the cars that were gifted to me.  I went into the memory and deleted a bunch of the paint jobs that were saved on there as well.  I kept the ones that i got through personal auctions and tried clearing the cache, and got the same message again.

Im telling you, once you get that message on a saved game its over for it.  You just have to start a new game.  What you should do is get a memory card, put your game on it and start a new one on the hard drive.  Only use the saved game on the HD to go to AH and gift.  Use the one on your memory card to continue career, race online, etc.  THERE IS NO FIX TO CORRUPTED SAVES.

It Erases all patches, so when you reboot you will be prompted to get the update, just say no...

If you have gotten rid of the damaged cars, it should not tell you that your profile is damaged.

then sign in to LIVE, and it will prompt you to get the update...  this is 100% theory, but it should not give you the error any more.

To late.  I bit the bullet after several days of working on this.  I thought about completely giving this game away to anyone, but I love racing sims to much to give up on it.  Once I get some cash going again, I will check w/some of the guys I got cars from to see if I can get some of those back again. 

this is no joke ive just found out a way to only get ur cars back if your profile has been tampered with on ur screwed up profile auction all the cars u wanna keep so they wontb sold so like 10,000,000 buyout 24hours then go on to xbox dashboard and go to memory select forza motorsport 2 then go down to find ur gamertag e.g JmanBassman then it should b about 34mb near that delete that then go bk into forza and retrive ur fave cars from auction house and cancel the auction don't do this if ur cars are duped

 

I just got this and can't use the AH or gift cars

ohh ya just got me as well this is horse *** i have to start over now, on my falken replica mustang god damn it all to hell lol took me like 15 hours to make it was very accurate. wonder if i use my friends hard drive with my other garage on it if i can use the auction house and stuff

You don't even have to do that just go into the HD and delete the game save as long as you have saved the designs and set ups you need, i did that and they are all there.

I think after the first time, I would be steaming. After a second time, I would be writing either microsoft or T10 a nasty letter. I have yet to have any huge problems other then cars I have gifted just seem to vanish into xbox space.

my brother has same problem and he's not clever enough to know how to dupe cars or anything else so really confused why he has been banned.

Has anyone spoke to turn 10 about this as it's out of order if you haven't done anything wrong.
