The Nürburgring is probably the best way for a manufacturer to prove that their car means serious business when it comes to performance. It has earned a reputation for being an extremely challenging course for both car & driver, and as a result, lap times have become a measure by which one can determine how good a car is. Get the top lap time on the Nürburgring, and your car attains a legendary status.

What I want to do here is have people post their best lap time on the Nürburgring with various cars/trucks/suvs. The cars used in producing the lap times are unmodified, and aim to be the truest representations of the real life equivalents. This way, we can re-create our own "official" Nürburgring lap times with production and race cars.

The rules for lap times are as follows:

1. The car must be completely UNMODIFIED. No parts whatsoever can be added to the car, whether they be engine upgrades, or rims and bodykits.

2. Tuning is acceptable for any car, so long as the tuning is restricted to parts of the car not modified.

3. Automatic transmission, ABS, STM, and TCS are allowed assists. Autobraking is not.

4. Using the rewind feature is acceptable. The point of this is to see what a car is capable of, not how fast a driver can drive a car without making any mistakes.

5. Do not lie about lap times. Its not cool. Nobody is going to think you're awesome for it. While enforcing this is near impossible, we will rely on the honour system to have people post true times.

 

If you like, you can submit a picture of your lap time in your post, but this will not be necessary. Post both the car used and the lap time achieved in this thread.

 

Lap times will be transcribed into the following post, along with the model of the car and the name of the driver who achieved it.

I got a 7:16 with the calsonic GT-R(blue) I believe its an R2?

I stepped on the curve a little too much in the last high speed section right before the mini-carousel so I got a yellow triangle. I didnt do anything to the car(no tuning, no parts). Hope this helps

You might want to do flying laps to get better times. Just go into hot lap mode, and reverse off the line. Go back to the start of the straight, and start from there. That way when you cross the starting line, you will be already going 150-200 mph.

All aids off except for clutch, legitimate lap without warnings or rewinds. No standing start. Still trying to go below the 8 minute mark.

Just did 2 laps with an R1( Porsche #7 RS Spyder) No upgrades, No tunes, ABS, TCS. 2nd lap 6:33.830 #170
