    Cake [^] ForzaStats.com - Forza2 stats, Forza3 soon?

    ForzaStats.com - Scoreboards, Rankings & Historic Data - HotLap, Exhibiton & TimeTrials

Hi all, I'm a heavy forza2 scoreboard user, and I think the scoreboard could be more comparative and fast.

With this in mind I created an alternative Forza2 Scoreboard, please take a look and tell what you think, what you want to see, etc.

    http://forzastats.com/

I hope this could be useful.

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard

    Seems totally redundant ?

All you list is the best cars for any given track/class, the FM2 scoreboard by default does exactly what you seem to be trying to achieve, the fastest cars/times are listed at the top and are the simplest to locate.

Sry i just dont get it ?

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard

Are you talking about a different listing for the website or within the game itself?  I don't see the use for it because you can access the information in Career, sort by the leaders, friends, near by names and your own times.  In Multiplayer you can do the same under Scoreboards for Time Trials, TrueSkill Rank and Hot Lap Times, too, plus the Arcade Mode's Time Trials.

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard

    Thanks for the comments guys,

What I´m trying to do its an easy way to see an overview of the best cars/times per classes, imagine the time you will spent to list the best car for each track in A class. With this you can print this table and use it to use the best car for that track when you are playing.

And for sure the original scoreboard has more information (like I have only the first 10 of each class/track), and more functionalitys like Snowowl said.

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard

More than a year ago, one of the fellows on the Forza Motorsport 2 forum (singular) on xbox.com put together a listing of the "top cars" (maybe the top three) for each track/class, etc., and it became way too much of a job to keep updated.  You never know when a change takes place, and in most cases there are a ton of those "leaderboard cars" dominating the first hundred or so positions.  So it was taking way more time to gather the information than was feasible, plus when it got posted people starting sniping away - "How can you list such-and-such?" etc.

What I think would be neat would be to be able to sort to Class, then by Brand/Model of the cars.  Oh sure, certain cars (because of the leaderboard junkies, I guess) dominate, but down around #456 might be a really fun car to drive and be competitive with even though it might not be "dominate."  So you might prefer a Skyline and I might like a Honda, but neither are listed in the top 500 times.  I'd like to see a sort down to something like that.  Additionally, also be able to sort between simulation mode (tires/gas) and non, so we don't have the 44/50 pounds in the tires, and actually have wear along with pit stops in the longer races.

I like it, its easier to navigate but it just doesn't have as many function. Mix and match both. The one at them moment if good but Adobe Flash always seems to have problems, like browser compatibility. I hate flash navigation.

Im sure they will update it when Forza 3 the next big thing comes out.

Yeah that would be nice. IMO they should force people to make pitstops to post a time on the LB for the endurance races. But I don't really care about the high tire pressures. There are many other aspects of tuning that are at least as unrealistic.

To the OP: nice, concise layout. I think it is very useful as a quick reference because the online scoreboards are slooooooow. But good luck keeping it updated, it looks like a huge undertaking.

Not only are the online scoreboards slow, but they aren't necessarily as current as the ones within the game.  Sometimes they lag by 24 hours or so.

Could you use that program to extract specific times from the scoreboard?  Such as grouping a number of gamertags together to form a team, then collect their scores, then compare them to another grouping of gamertags?

If you could, then you could make a automated club hotlap scoreboard, and that would make you a very very popular man around these parts.Smile

OK... now you got me hooked. Last time I tried that I gave up as I couldn't make any sense out of the AJAX code used (within a reasonable amount of time investment that is!) I even asked Che if they would release some sort of API for that, but they declined. Anyway, so... GeorgiaDawg has some valid questions: did you make sense out of all the AJAX API or  - as the provided list suggests - do you only capture the top 10 of every hotlap class by parsing the HTTP response for a simple URL request? Geeked

Either way... I like it... provides a nice overview...

    Tchak,

just took a peek at what you have going on and it seems to be very cool. Keep up the great work. Matio , sounds like you and Tchak need to put your heads together and show T10 how to do it. Hope all is going well in your life , and that you had a safe and fun holiday season. I should start being on the 360 a bit more as soon as my 360 is back up full time. ttyl

Anwser - Option #2 - "... only capture the top 10 of every hotlap class by parsing the HTTP response for a simple URL request." and generate an xml with this data.

My actual goal is a way to extract the top 100 (1000???) for each track/class and do more data analysis, like "Laguna Seca / Class A" #1 - New Bettle - (best) 1:01:001 - 745 times (in first 1000) / #2 - Renault 5 ..." and other that you guys have suggested.

Imagine if we can show the car's setup (when user permitted for sure) and compare it!

Thought so... well, like I said... I tried to make out some sense of the AJAX responses, but the generated HTMl code is very, very verbose (they never heard of CSS it seems) and couldn't make any sense out of it. After 1 or 2h I gave up... I wanted to use use it for custom LB for our hosted HLCs back in the days. As said, T10 refuses to provide a simple API to query for the data... so...

Nevertheless, if you have the patience and skills to hack your way through it... I wish you good luck! I'd love to see it done...

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard

Today some improvements to the site:

    - Driver team link - I catalog some team's url, so if you click on team it take you to the team website.
    - Comments - Added to the end of the page a place to comment (Suggestions, all love/hate stuff, etc)
    - Export to Excel - self explained - if your excel says that something wrong with file format, don't bother, continue.
    - Few visuals - Used some colors on tables.

    Re: Alternative Scoreboard Teams

I add some Teams information to the listings and totalized on end.

This way you can see what Team has more best times, per overall, class or Track.

I added some teams - names and links too - if I forgot someone, just tell me.

    I Josh 1990 I:

Thanks, very good to hear that

The team stats is based on the #1 Places only, if you are seem all Hot Lap its is calculated from all, if you are seem ClassD stats it is calculated within ClassD only, etc.

I plan to add other counting with the top 10 on each, but I have to assume some points for each position like #1 10p, #2 9p,....

There is still things to do like order the teams table by rank.
