    Top Gear is Back.................Again

For UK Viewers anyway. I was just reading my latest TG magazine and it says that TGTV will be back on Sunday 26th October @ 20:00 on BBC2.

Hopefully it'll run for more than the poultry 6 episodes that the last season had.

To top off a great day of TG news My Missus was reading my magazine over my shoulder and saw the ad for MPH '08, she decided that she wanted to go, so in the time it took for her to boil a kettle while she made my Coffee in bed she'd booked 4 tickets for Earls Court one each for us and one each for my kids.

How cool is that? and it's not even my birthday till WednesdayCool [H]

Lucky you. I don't get it until Wednesday at 3:00am.

I just wish they weren't so hard on N. American cars.

Don't take it personally, It's all in jest and a bit tongue-in-cheek, I read a TG review of the Caddy CTS-V today and they are extremely complementary about it, even though we won't be getting a RHD version for the UK and it probably won't sell very well here.

And I know Americans have a problem with TG's comedic view of American cars, but look what they've done to the British car industry.................it's all but dead, partly due to Rover's inability to make a decent car and partly due to Top Gear's habit of pointing it out so often LOL

TG will call a spade a spade, bring out a good car and regardless of where it's from it'll be praised, release a duffer and it'll get hammered.

I mean seriously N. American cars dont exactly handle like a dream, also look at what they done BMW M5! They said good and bad things about it and look at the sales, virtualy none are sold (My Mum works at BMW Blackheath) its such a shame that TG slates some cars and praises others. But honestly I dont think it affects the sale of the car at all. After all if YOU like a car and you can afford it, what do you do, you dont listen to Clarkson, May or Hammond you go and buy the thing.

i know american cars arent built to handle as well as the eurocars, but they cant really be as bad as they claim for some of them.

Cool, so you may get the real deal late but you also get to watch the Aussie copy...........we don't get that in Blighty. I'd like to see that version, Charlie Cox was always a great motorsport commentator & I hear he's now a presenter on TG Au.

I'm also going to MPH, went last year. Unfortunatley the Birmingham show is stlightly watered down. Although when I went last year it was the first time I played GT5.

What?!? GT5 is spectacularly good, especially the new GT by Citroen, but that's off topic.

    Re: Top Gear is Back.................Again

Unfortunately I believe that it is only going to be another 6 episode run. I think they split up the series and showed half in the summer and half in the fall. I could be wrong, but I believe that is what they did. Either way it'll be nice to have some new TG shows.

Agree! I love TG but sometimes there a little to hard on US cars. Its true that most dont handle as well but how many of us are ever going to push our cars that  hard?Confused [*-)]

even if you dont push a car hard, its still nice to have some good handling...

anyways, the only time ive ever heard them insult an american cars handling, it was some old caddy, o some other old POS lol. when the had the c6 vette on there, they said it cornered really well, and the z06 was better on the track, but a terrible rid on the road. looks like good honest words to me.

Don't forget the Ford Mustang that Richard Hammond drove, he commented on the rear suspension and how badly it went round a corner.

    Re: Top Gear is Back.................Again

The only thing that occasionally irks me is how Clarkson associates his desire to have an American car (like the Mustang) with a desire to date with a relative.  I know that most of that banter is a bit scripted (maybe?) since he has owned a Ford GT (despite his experiece with it)  Other than that, I still love the show, I'll be downloading the new series from bit torrent!
