WTF?? please clear this out for me...i have read this in many magazines. and i still dont know how the corvette is a hatchback but the slr isnt!

After some research apparently on some older models the rear windshiled would open with the trunk.

Possibility?

it is all in how the back opens. if the glass goes up with the trunk, then you have a hatchback. more examples would be a 3000gt, 240sx fastback, toyota celica. i can understand the confusion. i don't know how the trunk opens on the SLR, so i can't really help you with that. IMO, the cars i listed as well as the corvette are fastbacks, not hatchbacks. please someone correct me if i'm wrong

yeah a hatch back is when the boot is connected to the window and it opens together

the saloon(americans call it a sedan i think)is when the boot opens on its own like a subaru s204 that kinda thing

the fast back is when a cars roof slopes all the way down to the tail

Bonnet = Hood
Boot = Trunk
Saloon = Sedan
Coupe = Coupe, but English say coo-pay, and Americans say coop.

I also know that in some parts of the UK, a cigarette is known as a "f.ag".

Other way around

The Z06 coupes are different from the long glass rear base corvettes

Notice the window ends sharply on the Z06 coupe

The other vettes have longer windows intergrated into the panel like so

They may have changed it but the Z06 that I knew was built with a coupe shell and not the run of the mill hatchback shell --- stiffness was key for the Z06
