    New Scoreboard Filter is Up

It appears I may have been the first to stumble onto this.. but the new vaunted Scoreboard Filters appear to be in operation now. When you click on hotlaps and select a class and track, you will notice a "Customize Results" button that will filter by car, assists, etc. Smile [:)]

Yeah I haven't figured out exactly how you filter out team tags and gamertags yet. Guess you have to use brackets like <> and () and put your search in there but it's been returning no results for me yet.

I'm sure Che will give everyone a full explanation in tommorow's Pitpass. Wink [;)]

Yup, and apparently they are still rolling it out.  A couple of times I've been able to access the small filter menu, and a couple of other times I'd get the little script warning in the bottom of my screen stating 'error on page'.

This has been a long time coming, and I can't wait to start taking a closer look at my times.

Seems great on the surface! Unfortunately, "under-the-hood" is, shall we say, lacking some horsepower...

The Filter can only be applied to the Top 1000 times. So, while it will be useful, it's really only useful-ish.

P.S. Ughhh... reading back, I realize my comment was worded poorly... It's unfortunate that only the top 1000 times can be filtered - BUT - it's great to have it anyway! Thanks Turn10

Wow I don't feel so bad about my times now in A class with no assists (besides TCS on muscle cars). Makes me feel alittle better, got mostly top 5 no assist times. This thing is pretty cooooooooooool

I personally would have preferred an extra track or car pack. I really don't see the point of this tool and it isn't really all that great.

Sorry for my negativeness. Sad [:(]

I don't think it takes a big leap of common sense to know that the person(s) working on the web site - specifically the scoreboard - are NOT the same persons who develop DLC tracks/cars. No way anyone could convince me that the scoreboard enhancements - valuable or not - delayed in any way the next DLC release.

Love the filter, dont like the fact it only filters top 1,000 (glad someone else noticed); definately could (and hopefully) will improve with time.

    Thank you T10!!!

Re: New Scoreboard Filter is Up

The problem with the filter is there is a lack of data to support it for it to be really usefull.  It really is just filtering the existing top 1000 data.  What would be more usefull to me would be if they had the top time in every car you ran, not just your top one time in whatever car you used to set it.

An exmple:  C class, motegi west, filter on Honda CR-X shows that I have the top (and only btw) time.  Does this mean nobody in the world has beat my time in a CR-X/c class/motegi west?  No it just means if they did they have an even better time in some other car.  And unfortunately that is the only time of theirs you can access on the scoreboard.

BINGO!  This is why these filters are useless.  I mean serioulsy, given enough filters, everyone could be #1.  The same argument can be made for any of the assist filters.  If I run the number 25 time with ABS on, and then run .001 slower without it, only my time with ABS will show up on anyones filter.  This will give a lot of people the false impression that they are faster without ABS than a lot of the top drivers, which simply isn't true.  But if it makes people happy, then good on themBig Smile [:D]

They could have at least made some useful ones, like filter by country.

To filter a team, say TRC for example, put *TRC* in the first filter box.  This will return any gamertag with TRC anywhere in the name.  The * part means anything.  So *TRC* returns tags that start with anything, then have TRC, then end with anything.  You could do something similar with SPDN*.  That would give you only those that start with SPDN and then end with anything.

Re: New Scoreboard Filter is Up

The one thing I was looking for, this will not do.  I drive automatic, and I'd like to see how I rank in that grouping, not caring about the other assists or drafting.  It doesn't provide a "don't care option", so we can only look for specific exact combos of assists on/off + drafting yes/no.

Re: New Scoreboard Filter is Up

Nice find. Yup, we just rolled out the scoreboard filters this afternoon.

Unfortunately, we only allow you to filter the top 1000 results because it's a limitation of the Xbox Live scoreboard system when it comes to displaying data on the web.

So even if unfiltered, you'd only be able to see the top 1000 for any scoreboard on the web, whereas you can see all results in-game.

That said, we're removing this limitation for our next game by hosting/building our own scoreboard system which will give us ultimate flexibility and control.

Not sure where the confusion is about searching for gamertags with the wildcard command.

I just did a search for all R2P clan members and put "R2P*" into the field and that did the trick.

Re: New Scoreboard Filter is Up

Yes this is almost useless. it can filter leader board cars nice buy differnt assist.

I was hoping to filter a car and see were I ranked against others in that car. but I have time that are higher with leader board cars. Plus it would have been nice to filter stock setting for cars also. If the first cant work there is no way the lader can. the thing is no mater what time I get in any car in free run it still says in the game it is posting a time to the score boards. Where does my time go if I cant see them.

I hope the DLC is good this month!

Re: New Scoreboard Filter is Up

This filter will be of use to some people, and for others it won't really work in what they're looking for. Unfortunately we're restricted to what data we have on scoreboards, and info like times you're posting in other cars (with slower times). We theoretically should be able to filter by PI, which could tell you whether a car is stock.
