OK so here goes....
Welcome to the Official thread for the FM2 British GT Championsip!!!! Here we will update regularly the info you need to take part, aswell as offering sign up options here as well as pointing you in the direction of our forums.
General Overview
This series will be running to the GT3 concept set up by the SRO organisation in charge of most of the major GT championships around. Unlike alot of BIG GT series the major benefit of GT3 is reduced costs, greater vehicle choice and close racing.
In this championship we will be running the cars to PI: 930 This will be representative of the sporty but not too sporty nature of the class. Forza body kits and slick tyres will be required to compete. There will also be a nominated tyre manufacturer for ALL participating cars in the competition. While this may be hard to police we take it on a drivers good nature not to flaunt this regulation and to maintain the spirit of the championship.
Other mechanical modifcations are free to choose from so long as the car does not exceed the PI rating set. This rating seems to accommodate cars with race settings for all ancillary mechanicals and mostly sport options on engine/exhaust parts. If there is an inequality amongst the cars adjustments will be made to re-balance the series so ALL car types have a fair chance of success.
Eligable cars
The following cars will be eligable for drivers and teams championship points:
Aston Martin DB9 (Or DBRS9 if becomes available)
BMW M3 E46
Corvette C6 Z06
Dodge Competition Viper
Ferrari F430
Ferrari 360
Ford GT
Ford Mustang
Jaguar XK
Lamborghini Gallardo
Lotus Exige
Nissan 350Z
Porsche 996 GT3
Porsche 997 GT3
TVR Sagaris
TVR Tuscan R
Vauxhall Monaro
Vauxhall VX220
Other rules:
The points system will be 10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
Cars must have some form of racing livery produced for it. It can be fictional though a real race livery is preferred. The only proviso is that no car can be run with a livery that is anime, rude or otherwise non-race livery like. There are enough racing series around the world for inspiration so please don't turn up with the Teletubbies or Jennifer Anniston on your car!
This series is NON CONTACT. So while we will be running with damage and tyres/fuel agressive driving will be met with punishments. These could be points losses, race bans or for continued bad driving, disqualification from the series. Each race will be recorded so anyone with any issues should report it to the race organisers and a fair decision will be reached. This aside it is expected that some contact will occasioanlly occur, thats racing after all.
Right thats it from me for now. I'll leave you with some images of a couple of the contending cars (that I designed for show).
