Hello fans of Forza and welcome to the FM.net Hotlap Challenge Season 6 wrap-up. This blog takes a look at the past 5 weeks of vicious hotlapping that have recently been completed, along with highlighting the players who have performed well this season.

HLC6 Week’s Winners:
Week 1 – AJ The Boy

Week 1 – Peugeot 207 Super 2000 – Photo by Mazda6 MPS

Over the 5 past week’s hotlapping, 3 different people have walked away with the #1 time. A healthy internal team battle has spawned between Italian GSR Kronoturbo and Frenchman GSR NookmaM. Even American driver and previous HLC Driver’s champion, AJ The Boy walked away with a win this season! This HLC Season marks the final season for 2008, and after 5 intense weeks, a new champion is crowned – GSR Kronoturbo! Congratulations!

After trading the number 1 position back and forth during Season 6, only 14 points separated GSR Kronoturbo and GSR NookmaM after the curtain came down on week 5. This was the closest winning gap for any HLC season, as 14 points in this HLC series is less than the difference between points earned for 1st and 2nd place from week to week! With the exception of week 1, GSR Kronoturbo placed in the top 2 each week for the rest of the HLC season, pretty impressive stuff in my book!

3rd Place this season was claimed by TX3 TurBoNeTic, a great drive by the Frenchman from week to week. TX3 TurBoNeTic claimed a top 10 time each week to prove that it takes speed and consistency to achieve a great podium place on the HLC Drivers standings. GSR cooperlive finished in 4th place in the Driver’s standings, another fantastic drive from a quick driver indeed. He claimed 3rd place in week 4 and another top 5 in the 2nd week of the HLC, at Silverstone International.

VVV Richie Roo took home 5th place in the HLC Season 6 Driver’s championship, earning him the title of fastest UK driver of the HLC. VVV Richie Roo took 5th place in week 1 of the HLC season, showing determination from the start, and progressively carried forward his consistency throughout the season to earn him a top 5 in the overall Driver’s Championship.

Season 6 of the HLC saw 20 teams register, all with their own roster of drivers from around the world ready to compete. GSR were the current title holders from Season 5, and came back this season to defend their title. After an initial look at the registered team rosters, it was clear this wasn't a one horse race, as many fast teams appeared such as GSR, VVV, TRC, TX3, WWR, FTW, AMG & AZT. On paper these teams looked very strong contenders at taking a podium position this HLC season.

As the weeks unfolded, however, GSR continued to set the pace just slightly ahead of TRC and VVV. You may remember after week 1, these 3 teams were separated by just 33 points. Going into the finale week 5 at Motegi, GSR really couldn’t lose their title, and have re-claimed their HLC teams title. This is the 2nd time GSR have won this prestigious title, following in the footsteps of R2P and V12, who have also each won this title twice previously.

This season has been a great battle for teams of all skill levels, there has been battles going on in all sections of the team table. The pace has been set thoroughly this season by GSR, finishing over 900 points over 2nd place VVV. This has been helped greatly by the ruthless pace of HLC6 Driver’s champion GSR Kronoturbo and all the other GSR drivers who have claimed a top 10 this season.

2nd place was held onto rather firmly by Team VVV. Week 1 saw a great start with two drivers in the top 5, and this was all it took to give the team a competitive push in the rest of the HLC weeks. Even after the battle broke off with TRC in the early weeks, VVV still pushed on to make sure WWR didn’t sneak above them in the closing stages.

3rd place this season was taken by a hard-charging WWR. Wire to Wire Racing are a newly-formed club but have some talented drivers, and after a poor start to the season, continued to push and pass other teams to finally claim the final podium position! Congratulations!


Week 4 – Opel Speedster Turbo – Photo by hoccy

4th place this season went to FTW Racing. The team is large in numbers and love to hotlap. Their consistency really benefited the team this season, as in the last week they pushed hard to pass TRC & TX3, this meant they jumped from 6th to their final position, 4th.

Rookie team TX3 managed to achieve 5th place in their first season of the HLC. TX3 TurBoNeTic scored a vast amount of points for his team, and consistent scoring from the rest of the team is what earned TX3 5th place.

If you finished in the top 10 in the Drivers championship or if your team finished in the top 3, then you will qualify for prizes courtesy of Turn 10.
