Happy Friday everyone. As Landin sits behind me typing up his portion of this week's Pitpass Report, I thought I'd take this moment to pop into the blog real quick to talk about a couple of updates. I'll probably touch on the same topics in the Pitpass write-up as well.
First of all, as the submission deadline for our Team Seattle Porsche 996 GT3 Cup replica contest approaches, we've been getting some great and (typical for the caliber of artists in our community) mindblowing photos on the work they've done. Those of you who have yet to enter into the contest -- not for lack of skill, mind you, but rather due to the intimidation of being blown out by the best livery artists on FM.net -- really should reconsider. We're talking 15 million in-game credits and 3 gift cars for you AND A FRIEND (if he/she helped you tune/paint your car).
While the caliber of the re-creations have been really high, none of them are obviously perfect. I encourage everyone to give this a try -- make it your weekend project, and submit something. Who knows what kind of consolation prize (in-game credits and gift cars) we will give out just because you gave it your best! For reference photos and contest details, check out this link to a previous blog entry.

Speaking of Team Seattle -- this weekend is the big race for these guys in the 24 Hours Daytona and apparently it's the last time they're to participate in the series. For pics and updates on Team Seattle and their journey to the podium this weekend, head over to their website: http://teamseattle.com and while you're there, please sponsor them in their cause to help Seattle's Children's Hospital. They've also got a really cool blog you should check out with the latest reports from the tarmac of Daytona.
In fact, here's a clip I found on their blog which features a look at their practice sessions at Daytona in their Porsche 997 GT3 Cup. Listen to that car!
Additionally, here are a couple of our favorite videos from this week. I'm glad the Forza community is mobilizing to create their own videos. Remember folks, host these videos on http://videos.msn.com for best results so we can embed them right here in our blog or forum space. We love youtube as well, but youtube vids just don't look that good here at FM.net.
DTMRS2 Race 2: Motegi Speedway
A nice and eventful race with the DTMRS series crew. Most remarkable about this race, besides the off-road excursions, is the fact that racers are exchanging positions throughout, and the announcer is actually pretty good at keeping the pace of the video going. He might do well to have a sidekick announcer to bandy comments off of. Otherwise, nice video and we look forward to more from the DMTRS series. Check out their website for more info: http://www.varaces.com/dtmrs/.
Forza 2 Drift Compilation by Tatakai
The first video that was received was a drifting video put together by "Tatakai", a very active member of the Forza 2 drifting community. The video entitled "Forza 2 Drift Compilation" was a community drifting project that features not only a wide variety of drivers from all different teams, but also some great editing and music.
