Wow... to bad the projector set-up I got only does 720p, oh well its still 119' inches + 7.1!!

I have a 40" Samsung LCD that does 720p, but now I want a 1080p set. Damn, trying to keep up with the Jones is expensive. Maybe next year.

No, not all TV's support 1080p through component.  Friend has a Sony that will only do 1080p through HDMI.

But it has HDMI though right?

The fact that they are willing to put 1080p over component cables is good for us with the cable, but with HD DVD it's also not protected. It's surprising from MS.
Anyway, the screen looks great and I can't wait for some more news/pics/videos!!!

I wounder what that screen is (a loading screen)? I noticed another variation of the Forza logo looks like the letters FM then 2.

Dont think so. i could bet its a loading screen and the small font text is a "tip" given before each race. I was trying to make up something but im stuck at "While reving, ..." *_*

I've got the same question as VinDiesel, I don't think it will be such a huge difference - but I heard that if you have a 720p/1080i compatible HDTV, it's better to play video games at 720p due to the quicker refresh rates in quick/fast paced games such as racing, shooter etc.

What do you guys think about this??

Your exactly right about that... 1080i has the same detail and sharpness as 1080p, but the interlaced signal has a lower refresh rate (or something to that effect) which is great for games and TV shows that are NOT fast paced like a racer or shooter.

So if you have a 720p/1080i, your way better off using the progressive signal (720p) for Forza.

sorry che,  i'll keep the joking to the forums,  evidently blogs aren't the place for it. on the bright side i didn't see "turn ten drops consumer suport" with a link to this as proof,  or at all.  people take you dead seriouse,  your every word.  it's like you are a god,  an uber god.  if the regular god didn't have a since of humor there wouldn't be humans,  or humans to post on forums.

720p looks and plays great on smaller displays 37”, 42”, 50”. Where the higher resolution (1080p) really comes into play is on larger displays approaching or exceeding 60". Just think in terms of your PC, with a 19” or 20” display, 1600 X 1200 is more than adequate, however with a 30” display you would want a higher resolution, say 2560 X 1600 to get the same detail and lack of aliasing.

1080i is interlaced and does not equal 1080p in terms of resolution and refresh rate.

I am happy to see the 360 is capable of 1080p output, makes sense when you compare it’s GPU with its PC counterparts that are capable of even higher resolutions (8800 GTX and the yet to be released X2x00 - R600 line of ATI/AMD GPU’s). Too bad we have to go through a hardware revision to get the new HANA scaler chip for digital support (HDMI/DVI).

TV processes the incoming signal correctly, and if it supports 1080p via component you can still play upconverted and native-1080p games .

otherwise if our TV does support 1080p over component then no dice?

My TV only supports 1080p through HDMI. What am I gonna do? I basically bought this TV for gaming, especially FM2. I am not going to want to buy another 360 that has a hardware upgrade. Is there some sort of converter plug?

It is possible to use a VGA to DVI adapter to get 1080p if your TV doesn't support 1080p over component, if your TV doesn't have DVI you can try going from VGA to DVI to HDMI using converters although i dont know how well this will work.

Every xbox 360 game is upscaled to 1080p even if they dont support it natively.

On a 26" display, you really are better off with 720p because you will barely notice the difference in detail and it has double the refresh rate.

i noticed that the 360 they were using is black... is that the new one the rumors were talking about? either way i'll be happy. i have a sony 42" 1080p lcd tv and if it will work then cool.

Stoked, can't wait to get behind the wheel of the MC12 in 1080p. By the way I hope the shift paddles on the Microsoft wheel work for Forza 2.

OMG, if we could just get some official gameplay video. We haven't had a single one since the game has been announced. Those gameplay videos on youtube can't compare to an official video.

Why don't you guys send sites demos so the can give us some direct-feed video? The lack of media for this game is crazy.

I just thought I'd mention that I have Battlestations: Midway, and on the back of the box, it says it supports 1080p.

So is the game 720p native? I would rather it runs smooth on a  720p rather than look good on a 1080p. Just make the frame rate flawless.

I just want fm2 to be released. im sure it will look good on my 50" plasma....

1080 will be addictive.  If you play it on anything less you will get annoyed with the TV!

I have an HDMI set, Don't know if it supports 1080p or if it is only 1080i, but I am sure I won't be playing at 720p. Can't Wait!
