So far so good folks. We are extremely honored and humbled to announce that Forza Motorsport 3 has been named Best Racing Game of 2009 by a handful of respectable publications we frequent. The team worked hard on the game and we're thrilled to see that Forza 3 is both a commercial and a critical success.
Here are the awards that came out via the wire today:
IGN.com: Best Xbox 360 Racing Game of the Year
"There was little debate as to the best racing game this year. After all, Forza Motorsport 3 is easily one of the best racing games of all time. Along with great visuals and unparalleled physics, the career mode is brilliant and the online is astoundingly versatile..."
G4TV: Best Racing Game of 2009
"The series has been shockingly consistent year after year... this isn't just a racer for gearheads who know how to tune a car - it has enough assists and features to cater to any novice."
CNNTech: Best Racing Game of 2009
"Simulation fans will appreciate the authentic physics and handling of this driving game, while beginners can turn on a number of driving assists to help them win races..."
SpikeTV: Best Driving Game of 2009
Last weekend Dan Greenawalt and I flew down to the city of angels to attend the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards and the nomination of Forza 3 as Best Driving Game of 2009. Being our first VGA ceremony, the whole affair was fun, if not a little bizarre in typical Hollywood fashion. Those of you who watched the VGA show on TV noticed that there was no actual Best Racing Game award ceremony on stage -- that's because the award hand-off and announcement happened at the side stage located on the red carpet walk into the entrance of the show.

Dan fields questions and comments from reporters. I had never seen so many female games journalists under a tent in my entire life.

The boys from the band The Bravery showed up on the red carpet too. Later, they played a couple songs for a mostly unmoved audience at the show.

Why hello there! The crew from Break.com chat with Dan.

Racing game of the year! Dan receives the award with deep contemplation and wry curiosity.

After collecting our fabulous Spike VGA monkey award, Dan spent a little time with GT5.

Kimbo Slice looking for something to destroy while Geoff Keighley carries on his broadcast.
Mike Tyson's cameo at the VGA was both a personal high point and a low point for the award show. Cute baby though.
Thanks to everybody who supported Forza Motorsport3 and Turn 10 throughout the life of our franchise. Your devotion to the series helped make this honor a reality!
